"Ahh what can I say. Been coming here for a few years and they never disappoint! Their vanilla plant based ice cream sandwich is to die for ! I have literally been driving here an hour from Morganton just for that specific reason a few times lol. They have other plant based options now that I have yet to try but definitely will next time I come around!!"

"excellent restaurant with a sophisticated menu and also impressive food preparation. must contain order items elch, venison, and bison. trüffelfries were great. the salates were fresh, but small cut. only the complaining charges double typical prices on my fav scotch. in the did are bar prices very high. that was our sixth visit. it is always impressive, but only special occasions."

"One of our favorite places in Asheville is Curate. We love trying lots of different plates and sharing them. Needless to say, we decided to order from the small plates part of the menu. We ordered 5 of these and were stuffed. The portions were more than generous. the best part though was the quality of the food. The flavors in the seafood risotto burst in your mouth. The beef poutine was fun. The barbecue shrimp were delicious, cooked just right. Not too dry. The pork cheek ravioli was outstanding. The scallops were delectable. We also had an excellent bottle of Malbec for a reasonable cost and a well-made martini. Our whole bill with the drinks was $110. Wow. I would say the food here gives Curate a run for their money at a much more reasonable cost. The inside is nice but nothing fancy, with a pretty bar. There is also a wraparound covered deck outside which looked nice."

"10/1/2023 stopped here for dinner. Farm to table type restaurant and it was definitely the Asheville vibe! Our service was phenomenal! We ordered the hominy appetizer, collard salad which was interestingly delicious. For the main dishes we had the pork chop and the trout. The collard salad was interesting because I could never imagine using collards as salad but it was delicious, minus the stems! Don’t eat the stems they are bitter. The crispy hominy appetizer was unique and delicious. The pork chop was very good! It was tender and perfectly seasoned. It came with two charred peppers (needed more charring) and cider braised cabbage (not that good), purée of potatoe and some peacans. The trout was my favorite. I had two pieces on my plate but I wish it was the whole fish! The pieces were too small but made for a light meal on my drive back home. On the menu they show the farms they get their food from. We did not get any dessert, I has a mcflurry on the way up. I would recommend this place but be open minded to the different flavors and textures of the food! My total bill was $100 and some change. The bill seemed appropriate for the farm to table food you’re getting. Vegetarian options: Salads and they had specific dish for vegetarians called the Purple Tiara rice middlins. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to the outdoor patio area"

"we had a delicious dinner there. we sat on the table surrounded by glass in the front so that they see the walking and the people to foot we enjoyed. eating is phenomenal. I had the winter citrus salad, which was probably the best kale salate I ever had. I also had the wintersquash ravioli. as vegetarian I could find a series of tasty options. we had a problem with one of our meal times that they treated brilliantly. it was not a big thing, and we were satisfied with their development. not every meal can be perfect, and we understand that. So if a restaurant treats a problem properly, it makes it so much more beautiful. I also recommend the go of beer filled with taste. overall it is a pleasantly quiet environment, fast service and fantastic food. if they're in the asheville area, I highly recommend that they give chestnut a try."

"we have selected this restaurant by great reviews. we were not disappointed, the lunch was very good. it was very quiet as it was after lunch on a weekday. we chose the smoked trout spread appetizer quite a large portion (top for a escape for one,) so good! it came with rosemary crackers and plucked wobbles that were the perfect companion. my man chose the burger with sweet potato friries. it was cooked on its request, tender, juicy, delicious. the sweet potato friars were some of the best we ever had. I added the rocket salad with roasted chicken. salat was wonderfully fresh, simple enough dressing, and the fried chicken was excellent crispy, but delicately moist. service was good, though it either seemed distracted or new? very nice in any case, it didn't hurt eating! next time we'll come back in this area of asheville."

"There are probably a plethora of vegetarian choices in Asheville and normally as a mixed couple (I'm vegetarian, my husband a meat eater) we seek out places to suit both of our food choices. However, my husband wanted to try a purely vegetarian meal and I thought the menu and options at Laughing Seed were fantastic! We shared an appetizer cheese and fauxcuterie plate. It was very creative! The pickled celery and mushrooms were delicious! The cheeses were fantastic. Both my husband and I thought the faux pepperoni was a fail for us but it had more to do with the texture the taste was remarkably pepperoni like. I had a small Laughing Seed Salad which was a very generous size for a small. I added avocado and feta and again, I was impressed with the amount that they gave me. My husband tried the Harmony Bowl with grilled tempeh. Again it was very generous size and his first experience with tempeh. I tasted it and thought it was delicious. I don't think he'll become vegetarian any time soon but he enjoyed his vegetarian meal at Laughing Seed. Oh and I also had their Chianti Classico I don't often see a good chianti on your average wine list and this glass of wine was remarkable. I really enjoyed it."

"a truly delicious gluten-free food that even overtakes my gluten-loving husband! our server was wonderful, attentive, but not too attentive, and friendly. the atmosphere was beautiful. our reservation was for 9 o'clock on Thursday and even at the end of the service was our eating incredible. we had the gnocchi that came in a mushroom engraving that was so good that we also immersed the brotsticks in it! I had that steak. it was cooked to perfection with texture and taste, one of the best steaks I ever had. even my spatula was perfectly cooked. it was well done without being limp. my man had the faint and it was also perfection. he said it was one of the best meals he had ever had. we ordered the dessert. the blondie was more like a spicy cake than a blondie, after my thought, but it was still a good opportunity to finish the meal. we will come back! to get this quality of eating at the end of the night on a random week night, simply shows how good eating in posana really is. I'll have to deal with gnocchi and steak the next time."

"We were out of towners. The building is historic and awesome. It’s a great location to take a walk after dinner. Food and drink selections were great. There are so many options in downtown Asheville and this is no exception. We ended up eating there a second night because of the overall experience. Both waiters we had were great. Very personable and helpful."

"Love this restaurant and the food is amazing. The tapas style is great because you get to try flavor combinations from multiple small dishes. I have had more flavorful tapas at other restaurants but this place doesn't disappoint. The menu is large and always changing which is nice and keeps me coming back. The service kind of sucks. Every time I have gone the service has been subpar. The tapas concept is new or less familiar to some and the servers need to be patient or willing to walk through the menu instead of being annoyed or making the patron feel like an idiot. I am hesitant to bring friends or people who might not be as familiar with tapas because these ladies make no effort to explain or make newbies comfortable. Coming from a young female myself, I will admit they are all women with attitudes."

"Hole in the wall or Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Asheville Nestled in the vibrant culinary scene of Asheville, North Carolina, El Que Pasa stands out as a delightful destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a clean, well-kept interior that sets the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The first thing I noticed was how genuinely welcoming the staff were. I was greeted with smiles all around, which immediately made me feel at home. Shortly after being seated, my waitress promptly took my drink order and within moments, I was served with a basket of fresh tortilla chips and salsa. One unique highlight that truly adds value to the experience is their salsa bar . It’s not just your run-of-the-mill selection; this bar featured about eight handcrafted salsas, each with its own unique flavor profile. Whether you’re a fan of mild, tangy salsas or crave a spicy kick, there’s something for everyone. This kind of attention to detail in offering a variety of salsas is a testament to their commitment to providing an authentic Mexican dining experience. For my meal, I ordered the steak fajitas, paired with their house special margarita. The sizzle of the fajitas as they were brought to the table instantly got my taste buds going. The steak was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The accompanying peppers and onions were fresh and added a nice balance to the dish. But what truly impressed me was the authenticity of the flavors. It’s clear that El Que Pasa takes pride in delivering a genuine Mexican dining experience, and they don’t cut corners when it comes to the quality of their ingredients. As for the margarita, it was simply a 10/10. The blend was perfectly balanced – not overly sweet, with just the right amount of tequila and a fresh citrus finish. It complemented my meal perfectly and added to the overall satisfaction of the evening. El Que Pasa offers much more than just a meal; it provides an experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Asheville, this restaurant is worth a visit. The combination of friendly service, an expansive salsa bar, and mouth-watering dishes makes it a standout choice for Mexican cuisine in the area. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, and this time, I’ll be bringing my family along to share in the great food and warm atmosphere. If you’re searching for authentic Mexican flavors in Asheville with a welcoming vibe and top-notch service, El Que Pasa should be at the top of your list. Five stars all the way!"

"very loud eating inside (too cold outside.) everything we ate was quite good, but only a limited selection. I know this is not a “fine eating” operation, but the wine selection was extremely limited. baked green tomaten were the hit of the evening, but the meat laaf was a tight second."

"A definite dining destination if you are in Asheville, even if you are not!! A playground for your tastebuds, every dish is a treat!! If you are lucky enough to be there Thursday, Friday or Saturday, the orange pineapple rolls are a must!! Of course we had alcoholic beverages, a chocolate martini and cocktails, but including dessert, we left very satisified for around 90.00. Priceless for the experience, quality of food and service!! Highly recommend..."

"The young lady at the entrance did not have a clue about Open Table and told us all seating is open so please sit where you want. We explained Open Table but she didn 't have a clue. Usually we have the same server but a young fellow who 's been there awhile came to the table to ask about drinks and it was all down hill from there. When we left, I told our regular server we 'd appreciate it if she NEVER abandoned us again! She said she thought it strange that we didn 't get to sit in her section. Of course, we 'll go back and we 're sure that situation will be rectified."

"Food was very good. Lamb was a little over cookedSteak Tartar was excellent Waiter was not very attentive. Ordered a vodka martini with a twist of lemon. Didn’t get the lemon so asked for it from waiter. He came back without it. When I asked again, I was told that the bartender was getting it. It took about minutes to get the twist and the waiter comes over with a plate and a single twist on it and basically sets it down and walks away. We were told that wine was half price that night so we ordered a bottle. When we got the bill, we were charged full price. When we questioned the waiter his response was as though he knew that it would be a problem and had to go talk to the manager for approval to take the discount. Again, when he came back with the revised bill, he set it down without a word. Not even a “sorry for the error, or oversight “"

"We typically always have great service from most staff at Carrabba's in Asheville. Tonight was perfect. We had the privilege of having Chris TINA as our server and she was superb. From start to finish she was there when we needed something and anticipated our needs expertly. Hopefully you will see her as an asset and make sure she sticks around. We will ask for her on our next visit. Food was stellar as always. Well played, Carrabba's of Asheville!!! #DOINGITRIGHT"

"I understand you're in asheville and want to be vegan. they are not, their server have no idea whether there is something milk or eggs or not and are customers with regard to them. Please offer them a little more than a breast dish, they have so much potential and the sweetest location of the world. I was on other places and experienced the same situation."

"How this place has 4.8 stars is beyond me. I suppose I should have managed my expectations- can’t compare NC cuisine to the great restaurants I’ve dined at in NYC, Paris or San Sebastián. My husband and I made a booking at Vivian for our wedding anniversary; we flew in for the weekend from NY. The food was so mediocre. We shared the smoked oysters, the deviled eggs, the grouper crudo, the smoked roast chicken and angel food cake for dessert. The oysters had shell, the deviled eggs needed salt, the grouper crudo was extremely tough and chewy, and the chicken was bland and super dry. It didn’t really have flavor other than the smokiness and couldn’t even taste the shaved truffle. Everything needed salt as well. The angel food cake was also over cooked and dry. For a James Beard nominated chef, I would have expected better. And the service was sub-par. When the waitress removed one of our empty courses, she spilled sauce all over my side of the table and didn’t notice. I had to ask her to wipe it off with a rag. And I had to ask for more water repeatedly as our water jug sat empty several times. We felt kind of abandoned. She was nice though. I really wanted to love this place. Alas, we left very disappointed. Would not recommend."
