"I tried the potato chick with tofu, and I'm happy to say it's vegan-friendly! Finally, a dish in Bar Harbor that’s substantial enough to satisfy me! There were plenty of potatoes and vegetables. While it wasn't the most impressive meal, I wished the potatoes and veggies had a bit more flavor, but that's what salt, pepper, and hot sauce are for! I also had the vegetable sausage, which was decent, and the fruit bowl. The fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh—absolutely lovely! Plus, the service was excellent and the view was fantastic!"

"Great place for comfort Mexican cuisine. We have chips and salsa, vegetarian chili, Burrito Grande, Burrito Bowl. The food was extremely filled. As a self-announcement? Diner, I thought I had hit my game with the Burrito Grande. The Burrito had a good amount of cheese. It wasn't exaggerated, but I could definitely try the mix. It should be. You can choose your filling of ducks, and whether you want fried beans or black beans. The fried beans were good, but I think the next time I go for the black beans as a side, as the fried beans were easy to mushy. I would also like to have seen the chips as a free starter, as is the case with most Mexican restaurants today. We had to pay $3 for the chips, and they somehow lubricated Stale. I'd avoid the chips and go for these huge ducks. (8)"

"We were looking for some good Italian food after having eaten a LOT of Lobster and Clam Chowder over the past few days, and were lucky enough to find Mama Dimatteo’s! We had a very good dinner there! We were so happy to find this place! My wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo and thought it was pretty good. I had the Eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious! It was quite possibly the best I’ve had! We also enjoyed some Baked Cheese as an appetizer and loved it! Our server, Alex, was very friendly, helpful, gracious, and attentive! Parking in Bar Harbor is challenging this time of year, but we found an on street spot about 2 blocks away. No biggie… They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We had made reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. I would recommend this place highly and will return myself again when I can!"

"This was our favorite breakfast place in town during our visit to MDI! We really appreciated the vegan options, and enjoyed the homey atmosphere and friendly relaxed service. The clear COVID precautions were also appreciated! We had awesome breakfast bagel sandwiches with veggie sausage and I tried the raspberry mocha (a delight). The perfect fuel-up for a long day of hiking in the national park. The vegan rosemary lemon biscuits were incredible--chewy, subtle flavors, and not too crumbly. Before we left town, we picked up a bag of day-old bagels to take home!"

"On a 10-day tour through New England breweries and restaurants this was the surprise highlight. We stumbled in it based on Google reviews and lost our thoughts. I had the best lobster role in my life. The Clam Chowder was embarrassing and tasty, and I thought I didn't like chowder until then. The service was great and fun."

"Subways are subways, I go for a fast tuna sub everywhere. Write this review to emphasize the girl here. Great man, tireless. She had to make 10 subs back before she looked after me. She recognized me as a Muslim by looking at me and then automatically, without asking me, she changed her gloves and got clean knives to avoid cross-contamination with other meats. Understanding her understanding and respect. Hats of her."

"We ate lunch here recently on our road trip to New England. We ordered make your own mac and cheese, loaded nachos and veggie quesadillas. The food was good, our server Travis was great. "The grounds were beautiful and seating area has an amazing view. BUT?the service is HORRIBLE! I noticed when we sat down that there was a serious conversation with a family a couple of tables over from where we were seated?the server (possibly manager) was apologizing to the table and explaining that whatever happened was unacceptable. Things happen, so I thought maybe someone had a bad night. We sat there for close to 20 minutes and no one ever came to our table. We were a table of 4 that came in@8:45pm (closing time listed for the restaurant was 10pm) for an appetizer and dessert..2 other tables were seated while we waited for someone to at least say hi. When the other table had drinks and appetizers served, I went to find someone who ended up being our server ?who didn?t see us?; although 1 of the 2 tables next to us was HER table. She took our drink and appetizer order, never brought us water, so empty water glasses remained on our table during the entire horrible experience. The coffee drink I ordered was cold?COLD. No, it was not an iced coffee. I, again hunted her down, and asked if my drink should be cold. She went to the bartender who told her due to the liquor in the coffee it would be cold. ???? Our appetizer was decent and we ordered desserts which were good. No one received a refill on drinks so by the time we were halfway finished with dessert?no one had drinks?AGAIN, I have to flag down the waitress to ask for refills, which at that time I also asked for the check. She brought the check I immediately paid and DO NOT recommend this place. Total waste of $90.82 for 2 ok appetizers and 4 desserts and horrible service."

"Ria’s home cooked take away meal was superb! Our delicious food was packed in aluminum trays and were super easy to pop in the oven for a quick warm up. Ria and her daughter side kick are charming, providing delicious food to Bar Harbor with love, grace and very reasonable prices. "Cozy, Sinful but Divine! We were in Bar Harbor on a recent road trip in New England. After having a very disappointing dinner and terrible service at Black Friar Pub, we were so happy to land on this place. The service here was impeccable. Allegra treated us like royalty. We did flights of cheesecakes and wines. Everything was absolutely delightful! They also give you complementary cups of tea nice touch! From their cheesecake selection: We tried the kahlua, peanut butter chocolate, pistachio, pina colada, tiramisu, apple streusel, coconut key lime, strawberry, macadamia hazelnut truffle, almond bliss, chocolate espresso brulee, Georgia peach and lemon chiffon cheese cakes. Everything was deliciouso! From their wine selection: we ordered Apple of my eye, Blackberry Bewitched, Edelweiss, Cranberry Candle, Rasberry Riot, Witches' Brew, Blueberry Bliss, Red Rocket, Miss Behavin', Ghost Pines Merlot The wines paired perfectly with the bites of cheesecake. We loved it so much that we went back the next day and on top of trying more wine and cheesecake we also ordered their Mediterranean Mezze Platter which was also very good. We also had their chocolate OMG! Sinful but so Divine! We would definitely recommend this place. You will not regret it. Their hours are 11:11 11:11."

"the staff was slightly less organized than the other two ice-cream shops close to and the business is only cash. However, her vegan milkshake (vegan soft servier and soy milk) was generously dimensioned (up to share for two) and they had several interesting aromes of sorbets and not milcheis at the extreme end. I just tried the maple walnut that was very good. it was creamy like ice, but not as tasteful as I thought the maple should be. I will definitely return to try their other tastes of flattering not milcheis. "Nice little place for lunch. Nice staff. Sandwiches and chips kinda place. Had egg salad sandwich and tofu bahn mi. Both were good but wouldn't recommend if you are expecting a big lunch. They don't have espresso just drip coffee. But there is coffee across the street at McGraths. They have a great dessert/pastry selection though."

"thrive is my very popular restaurant on mt. desert island since its opening. I am vegan, and totally long their vegan tempeh blt wrap. it is enormous, usually thinks me for two meals (although my man switch his down in one), and is so delicious that I would eat every day when I lived closer. whatever sauce they make for them is perfect; the whole package is addicted. I could not expect them to reopen this year, as their foods are so fresh, so healthy, so delicious. next time I try one of her smoothies, even though the tempeh BLT wrap fills me very happy. look out! such a charming and healthy alternative to the typical bar harbor restaurant offers. I wish they were not closed on Monday and Tuesday."

"I tried to list this wonderful establishment as a B B but the Happy Cow staffed listed it as a veg-friendly restaurant. I guess because it is open to the public for brunch during the late fall-spring, but as a B B I could have given it 5 stars, which it definitely deserves! Breakfast is outstanding. Every day there are both vegetarian and vegan/gluten-free specials such as: VEGETARIAN: Winter vegetable and Aroostook sharp cheddar tart served with two eggs any style and pickled mushroom salad; Whole grain crepes with cranberry jam and coffee custard VEGAN: Grilled rounds of scallion polenta, savory lentils, caramelized onions, grilled tomatoes and avocado hollandaise served with winter greens salad; Parfait of fresh strawberries, maple-toasted oats, and sweet cashew cream During our stay I had gourmet bubble squeak with lemon-rosemary roasted asparagus, apples, and leeks. Scrumptious! This was the vegan special until I added poached eggs. Eggs come from the owners ' own flock of free-running hens. My partner had the chocolate cheese pancakes with cherry sauce and blood orange butter, which was as incredible as it sounds. There is a cozy dining room with lots of windows, self-serve coffee, tea and fresh baked goods made in the kitchen that morning. We had mini cranberry chocolate chip scones, which, again, were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. While I 've been raving about the food, our room was very cozy and charming. The owners are such friendly, thoughtful people who genuinely care about the wellbeing of their guests, as well as the planet as a whole. The entire B B is green with organic linens, natural toiletries and housekeeping products. Ingredients are sourced from a dozen local, organic farms (see photos for list provided). The Inn is also on a downtown side street (with off-street parking), so one can easily walk around Bar Harbor without a car. If we lived closer we would be back often for winter weekend brunch. As it is, this will certainly be where we stay when we overnight on Mount Dessert Island in the future!"

"When we arrived we waited a little bit while servers and the hostess were doing things. Once seated we were greeted by a waiter. He asked to take our order, though we weren't ready yet. He came back a few minutes later. I felt a little rushed as I was trying to read their menu and make a decision on what to eat. We ordered truffle fries, a Ruben with a side salad, and a haddock sandwich. I wasn't offered a dressing with my salad, which was odd. The ruben was okay, the truffle fries were way greasy way better truffle fries at Paddy's down the street. The haddock sandwich was okay, didn't taste any citrus with the tartar sauce. We also order blueberry Ale we've had it at 4 different places and it was a lot stronger at a different bar. We also had a flight. The first one (Real Ale) on the list didn't taste like much, the 2nd one (Blueberry Ale) was good, 3rd one (Caddillac Mountain Stout) I don't like stouts so it was gross, but my husband liked it., 4th one (Mountain Hopper Ipa) tasted similar to other IPA's, and the last one (Summer Ale) tasted like buttery popcorn."

"We had lunch on a cruise ship and the menu offered a variety of options. The restaurant was spacious and we ordered a hamburger, a corned beef sandwich, and a lobster dip. The food was decent but not quite up to a 5-star standard. The rye bread on my sandwich was slightly burnt and there were too many spices in the lobster dip, which made it taste like imitation crab. The burger tasted good but the patty was overcooked. The service was okay, we were seated and ordered quickly, but had to wait a while for our food. Once we got our food, our server disappeared and we had to ask for our check. Overall, the experience was mediocre and while I don't regret dining there, I may try another restaurant next time."

"Great food in Bar Harbor! Food: delicious fresh Service: Beyond Excellent Only thing we regret is not being able to dine in. We were in the area pretty late, only 30 minutes before closing and the person on the phone was very patient, helpful, and kind. This was a first time Thai food experience for some in my family, and everyone was left raving, even those of us who?ve had Thai food before. The noodles were fresh, the vegetables crisp, and flavor rich. The curry was also really well made with authentic flavors. Our coconut free friend also enjoyed the ginger fried rice in addition to the drunken noodles. Also delicious fried and not spring rolls?? When we arrived for pick up, we were greeted well and food handoff and transaction was prompt. Our observation of the staff was warm and welcome. It seemed like a great place to work. The ambience of the restaurant for dine in seemed amazing as well! Highly recommend Siam Orchid Bar Harbor!! Vegetarian Friends Restaurant"
