"Stopped in for a late lunch yesterday afternoon. It was a 10 from start to finish. It wasn't at all crowded due to our arrival time and we basically had the back porch to ourselves. The house music was delightful and soothing and there was enough chill that they had the fireplace going. Our server Jessica made our experience even better with her pleasant demeanor and constant smile. We just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice meal as we were in no hurry whatsoever. "I will alway stop at an Irish Pub and restaurant, hard to find British faire. Stopped by with the family after some hiking and was impressed. Front door was open to bring in cool air, the smell from the kitchen was in the air and beer/wine glasses were heard. Very good food, staff were friendly as can be, and very tolerant of our kids who were beyond hungry."

"Delicious Eatery in Blowing Rock Foggy Rock quickly won me over with its down-to-earth, quirky brand. They 're fans of pop culture and not afraid to show it. (Fun fact: I once called to order a gift card from them and they had the battle music from Undertale as their hold jingle. The menu puts a twist on traditional American dishes, as well as those from around the world. I can 't recommend the Tokyo Fried Brussels enough--the best Brussel sprouts I 've ever had. They 're vegan-friendly and deliciously glazed with in-house hibachi sauce. Every bit is juicy but crispy, with just the right amount of blackened grilled flavor. I also love their salads. Foggy Rock allows for premium salad add-ons. I always request grilled salmon over top; it 's a real winner!"

"Any Mellow Mushroom location is always a great choice for a place to sit down and get pizza. Came here for lunch one day during the week, and it was fairly busy but I was seated right away. The waitress was very polite, and while it did take a long time to get our food, it was delicious when we got it. I’m a big Grateful Dead fan, so I like seeing the hippie decor and the sign that said “what a long strange trip it’s been”."

We ordered the Crab Rangoon that was fried too long so it had a burnt flavor. 2. The Chicken Pad Thai was very oily tasting, like it had been made in old oil. 3. The Masama Curry had a nice flavor, but the potatoes were not done. The service was nonexistent. Our waiter never came to ask how our food was, never refilled our drinks or acknowledged us. When we were given the bill, (not by our waiter the girl asked how was everything? my husband replied not great (so not him to say anything negative! and her response was ok” OK! really OK!.... Not, I am so sorry you didn 't enjoy the food was there something you didn 't like? My hard-earned dollars spent at a place that can give a half of you know what answer with OK”! Well, that OK” has me sitting down writing a review in which I seldom do. I know that sometimes we all have off days. Well, the entire restaurant must be having an off day . No Thank You! And if it is OK I will spend my money where they actually care."

"This review is for two times we got food here in the past three days. First time was a 5 star experience. We ordered deli sandwiches and they were excellent and the prices were reasonable. Excellent. The second time was today, stopped in at about 10:35am. Asked if we could order deli sandwiches. Was told that deli menu was not open until eleven. OK so we ordered bagel breakfast sandwiches which were reasonably priced at only around $5.50 each. Well, it took over 15 minutes and the young lady that took the order just stood behind the counter and never even checked why it took so long. At one minute to eleven, another fellow came in and asked about ordering a sandwich and the young lady told him he had to wait one minute, really, are you kidding me. This place is a cute market and a nice deli. First experience was a 5 star but due to today's experience have to give it a 3 star. Owner, please check on the concern for the customers."

"my wife and I went to the end of a wonderful five-night stay in the opposite with a lot of joy on the basis of the wonderful menu. it was a disappointing experience that was made by probably the most inconspicuous server we had. they neglected to tell us about the nightly specialities; we were finished 3/4 of the way with our meal when another server on a table next to us said that the guests over a long list of specials. (one or two that we might have tried to get no bread and not offered; we asked our server about when she finally came back to our table (we were back, 3/4 finished, and had flown another server to bring us more water.) her answer to the brot: I can now get them a few if they want to tell their answer to us not about the specials: you seemed to be ready to order them rolled us one or two times the eyes. we're not hard to get along. my wife has numerous food sensitivity; she asked to make sure that there was no spinach in her house salat, because she could not have spinach, but the sweetness that came with her meal included. a portion spinach. they came to table only twice after eating, and both paint only b/c we flaged them to ask for water (it was the second dance where we asked for specializations and brot.) they did not bring us the scary after we had taken our teller, so after a long wait we went to table and paid there. eating was above average; my salmon was blanching, but the polnta served it was great. the meal of my wife was good, although the spinach was was was was wasted. we have not given any possibility for dessert because our server has never asked us. we mentioned our disregard with the host; the manager came out and got us $20 from a $90 meal. the other servers greeted the guests cordially and seemed over dinge; perhaps our only had a bad night. the restaurant was not busy (we came at 5:30 on a Sunday night and there was only one other table with guests when we arrived.) I still think that the menu is great, but not sure we go again."

"Our family has been patrons of Town Tavern for many years and we have never experienced anything like what we experienced this evening. My husband ordered the tavern tacos and I ordered the southwestern chicken sandwich with tater tots. When we received our food, my tater tots were room temperature or less. I asked our sweet waitress if she would mind to get us some fresh tots and make sure that they were hot. She did that in an efficient manner and brought us a nice warm basket of tater tots. As we were waiting for the tater tots I took a bite of my husband’s taco and the chicken was barely room temperature. He couldn’t bring himself to finish his second one thinking he may get sick. I bit into my sandwich at this point and my chicken was NOT warm. The waitress came to retrieve my sandwich and replace it with another one. I asked her to feel the inside of my sandwich and she agreed that it was less than acceptable! She brought me a new sandwich and the bacon was burnt!! She apologized several times and we appreciated her empathy. However, we spent $28 on a meal that left us unsatisfied and 100% certain that we will not be returning to dine there again. Neither the manager nor the cook came to our table to offer anything to rectify the situation. We left the restaurant feeling like we completely wasted our hard earned money. This is our honest testimony and unfortunately would have to rate our experience"

"I almost have 4 stars because of some sass from the chef but everyone else was so amazing. I couldn’t bring down their reviews for that. Our server Bryson (sp? was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. So patient with our group and helpful. No problem splitting the bill or asking for modifications. When making reservations for our large group, their event staff was very helpful and accommodating. The sass from the chef was over-salting a hamburger patty and then saying there was no salt. There was salt you could visually see that I tried scraping off before admitting defeat and requesting a new one. We did also have one breakfast here that was diner-food-like. Overall, service was amazing. Food was so-so."

"We stopped while staying at a local hotel in Blowing Rock. The service and food were what we have come to expect from Outback but the atmosphere was lacking because the location was very dated and was dark and seemed dirty.. "The food is so incredibly tasty! The service is very quick. The staff are kind and friendly. Very clean inside and outside. They aren't one of those rude restaurants that won't let you in if you don't have a mask but are willing to cover your face with a shirt. There is seating outside for those with medical, religious, or other reasons for not covering your face. But otherwise just temporarily stick your nose and mouth in your shirt to go inside."

"One of our favorites in Blowing Rock. The service here is always stellar and open, the males over the years were interesting, entertaining, pleasant culinary companions. I love that this is a place for all ages you see, because most are holidaymakers except the strong group of locals who regularly dinate there. This recent visit was a Friday night and the place was busy but not muded. Started with oysters Rockefeller who were tasty, but the oysters were tiny, lucky to draw. Next were garden salads coming with the ducks. Your blue cheese dress is stellar and the salad ingredients very fresh. I had the slowly braided beef short ribs that are enough to feed two. They are super tasty and very delicate. Husband had the New Zealand tack of the Lamb, which was perfectly cooked and quickly constricted to the bone. The beginners come with new potatoes and the choice of sides. I did asparagus and man did the filled zucchini and both were good. Always a nice selection of wine and good pouring for cocktails and such, but the bar tends to be secured with seating for dinner."

"We enjoyed the whole experience! Just walking to it was lovely. We followed a beautiful long, winding pathway right to the front door. It seemed as if we were walking to a distant neighbors home for lunch when, in actuality, it was just off the busy little street of downtown. We ate upstairs. I loved the old wood and charm of the room we ate in. I recommend the homemade New England Clam Chowder. It hit the spot on this cool November day. We will be visiting again soon."

"4 stars for the food and our attentive waitress; 1 for the lack of management 's concern for our horrible seating arrangement for a celebration meal. It was our first visit. The reservation had been made a month in advance. We were looking forward to eating there after all the great reviews. What a disappointment. We splurged on my birthday meal while we are vacationing in Blowing Rock in September. We’d been wanting to try this restaurant for years and we were looking forward to the elegant atmosphere and the food. It was busy when we arrived. After waiting longer than we should have, we were seated in a less than ideal table, in spite of a table next to it that was tucked away. Since we had reservations, we asked if we could switch to an area with less traffic. We were told no, even though it was my birthday meal. So we had to accept the small table by a swinging door or leave. We decided to stay for the food and enjoy each other 's company. That’s when the music started. It seems that the night we went, they were having music on the lawn. No one had mentioned it during the call to make our reservation. We also found out that our table was near the two bathrooms. So we had traffic during our whole dinner from the waitresses delivering food to those eating outside and people coming in and out to the bathrooms. Every time the servers or patrons came and went, a blast of excruciatingly loud music (a large speaker was just outside the door) poured inside. We’d have to stop talking because we couldn 't hear each other. We asked again if another table had opened up. No. Take this table or leave it. We did end up talking to the manager again before we left to let him know how disappointed we were. Had we known about the music, we would’ve chosen another place. Everybody knows, he said. He didn’t care that we weren’t locals and didn 't know. He didn’t care that we’d had a disappointing experience that evening. We won 't be back."

"This place was like the restaurants you see on reality TV and think it can't be really that bad. They didn't have any burger meat, or the toppings. They were out of cole slaw. The soda machine was out of order. The waitress was so bad it was like she was being intentionally being awful. She abandoned us for basically the whole meal, but when it came time for the check she said she wasn't pressuring us to leave, she just didn't want to leave anyone hanging. And it wasn't as though the place was packed. There were literally 4 groups eating. The food was cold and tasted like mud. The only positive thing about the place was their hush puppies. When it came time to leave, we asked for a box and a bag to take the leftovers home to the dogs and wouldn't you know it, they had no bags. If a restaurant is going to charge high dollar for a culinary experience they should at least have good, friendly wait staff, and well, the food on the menu. I will not being going back and I highly recommend you not waste your money, either."
