La Crosse, a vibrant city by the Mississippi River, offers classic Midwestern dishes like cheese curds and bratwurst, often enjoyed at local pubs and festivals.

"Always loved this place but been a couple years. Good drinks (u get what u pay for). Didn't get a chance to try the food but it always use to be good. Staff was friendly and on top of things. Floor was a little sticky but it could have just happened so not knocking anyone for that. Will def be back."

"Kane was so wonderful. He was bartending mid day. We went in for a birthday and he made it so special. Conversation was exceptional. Everything I would look for in a great bartender. Give him a raise, or I might poach him for my bar. 10/10 fricken awesome"

"I was looking for a good butcher to get some beef bones for a phở broth that I was making. I randomly came across this place on Google. It 's hard to find a place that understands what kind of bones I 'm looking for because it 's not simply beef bones . Schuby 's blew it out of the water. Their staff was knowledgeable, kind, and made me feel so welcome. The extra knowledge they had on something cultural was a bonus and made me feel very seen. I will definitely be coming back regardless of the drive!"

"The food is delicious. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is awesome, especially since the Christmas light decorations are up along the river. Happy Hour on Wednesday is the best- our bottle of cab sav was half price at only $12 and since we're hotel guests we each had a glass with dinner and took the bottle up to our room after dinner. From front counter host to the level of service by all staff, it is probably the best hotel restaurant experience we've had anywhere in the world. If you're staying at the Radisson, you owe it to yourself to dine here. If you're a La Crosse local, you should pop in for a happy hour and have a great experience. Well be back in a couple of weeks."

"Lovely experience all around. Had the loaded lodge chips and deviled eggs for an appetizer, since dinner is served at 5. We arrived at 4. For dinner I had the fish fry and my husband had the New York strip. His steak was amazing. (Yes I stole a few bites) His potatoes were meh, nothing special and same with the steamed broccoli. My fish fry was as expected but very nice and crispy. We were also served two kinds of bread which you can tell its freshly baked. The cranberry bread was my favorite. I could just eat that all night with their maple walnut butter."

"The gluten-free options were handled with great care. They put on fresh gloves, prepared my food on a separate tray, and handed it to me apart from the rest of our order. Candace truly embodies compassion and excellence! Whenever she’s working the drive-thru, I know I’m in for the best service. Thank you to the Taco John's team! They deserve a raise for all their hard work!"

"We had visited the Root Note a year ago and were pleased to find vegan options in such a small town. We planned a return visit despite it being a bit out of the way and the somewhat slow service. However upon entering this time I noted the change. Gone were the vegan options. Replaced with vegetarian friendly but very vegan unfriendly crepes. Thankfully their soup of the day was vegan that day but I definitely won't be going out of my way again. And my omni dining date didn't even enjoy his crepe. I am sad to see another vegan-friendly oasis in the land of dairy gone."

"First the bad. Stay away from their dessert and walk 2 blocks over to Pearls for ice cream. The Nutella pizza is more of a quesadilla which is short on Nutella and heavy on chew. They murdered the tiramisu when they covered it in chocolate sauce and whipped topping(gross). Tiramisu is a perfect dessert so I am not sure what idiot decided to ruin it. Pizzas were great. They are thin crust so know that in advance. Great sauce on the Pepperoni and although the Carbonara was extremely salty it was still very good. I would go back for the pie"

"Le Chateau has a bar in the basement called La Cave. It has an amazing atmosphere. People are dressed from casual to formal. Anything goes. You enter by desending down a spiral staircase. The service is impeccable. Watching the bartenders make drinks was half the fun. The drink menu is very unique and was so good. You can get appetizers from the restaurant upstairs. We had the caramelized onion tart. It was a flaky puff pastry, topped with caramelized onions, confit tomatoes and chèvre. It was delicious! This is definitely on my must stop list when visiting La Crosse. The experience is so unique. You feel as if you are in Europe, not western Wisconsin. You won't be disappointed."

"Wow!!! Absolutely AMAZING every time we have been to either the La Crosse location or the new Onalaska location. The staff, atmosphere and food/drinks have exceeded our expectations every time! This is by far, my favorite restaurant in Onalaska and I will continue to spread the word to everyone I know! Thanks for everything you all do... Señor Villa never disappoints!"

"I just started coming here a couple weeks ago and I have yet to be disappointed. This is quickly becoming a regular place for me to go for some productive studying and great coffee. The employees are very friendly and the variety of music they play is soooo good! Not to mention the coffee is delicious. Though primarily a coffee shop, their sandwiches and soup are almost just as good as their coffee. I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially if they are looking for a place to study without a lot of disruption that one can find at places like Starbucks. This coffee shop is just great and I am quickly becoming a dedicated customer."

"Excellent fresh salad bar. $10 and has every topping you can imagine, 5 creative soups, hummus, many salad dressing choices- like 10-12! Many protein (meat) toppings as well. Recommended from hotel I was staying at."

"Just had a monster burger. Has to be the best price for a full burger I've ever had in my life. Triple stacked 1/2 pound burger with all the fixings. Delicious. Finding any good burger under $10 is hard enough but this one was only $7! They are a cash or check only business but the slight inconvenience is well worth it! The place is clean, has friendly service, women on roller skates, nice benches for outdoor eating, ATM available and killer prices."

"I absolutely adore their sandwiches. They include a delicious garlic cream cheese spread that is so amazing it will make your eyes roll back in your head. I have yet to find anything to complain about. The only downside may be that the sandwiches are too good. I highly recommend it, 10/10."

"Stopped off of 90 for lunch and smelled the smoke! Needed immediate brisket satisfaction or else. The navigator parked the RV as I went in to order. Take out no call ahead and it took about 12 minutes. Not bad. The burnt ends appetizer was good, the onions they gave with it weren’t so crispy or my choice anyways so not harm there. The Sassy BBQ salad raised the moral of the navigator while the might mini passengers smashed the ribs and corn dogs. I had the brisket sandwich and thought it was good. Nothing crazy or overwhelming but good. The pickles were the most unique flavor I’ve had. They had an after taste of coleslaw and I liked it, but wasn’t ready for it. No disappointments here and you can expect what you would from any Famous Dave’s. That smoke!!!!"
