"Whatever you imagine for comfort food think that... Probably better! Where should you start? I'm pretty sure I could write a little short story about the fried chicken alone. The juxtaposition of the perfectly crisp skin meet the juicy white meat chicken was a really rare treat for roasted chicken... Most attempts at fried chicken end soggy and full fat these days that it is barely edible when it reaches the table. And that was just the chicken. Overall, our family and another family of 4 considered a table of 8. We enjoyed everything from the above fried chicken to picadillo soup a rue sandwich, grilled cheese and tomatoes basil soup and of course their delicious cookies. We were first tried to stop and a willing to eat grocery sandwich to meet the road home.... We're glad we didn't. Also during lunchtime was served quickly, fresh and warm. Whether you are through or ready to make a small ride for some really great food, Lazy Ladle Cafe is a must to stop if highly recommended in or around Menard!"
