"Usually when I 'm in town happen to have my dog with me, I 'll dine at Alchemy. A while back I discovered this business also has a pet-friendly outdoor dining area. We are there, 2 of us, and a water bowl was provided for my dog, their menu had more variety than Alchemy, and I decided this would be my new go-to place to grab a bite when in Murphys. The food was very good, too. That visit in the past is the ONLY reason I give them 2 stars. Today 's visit would be negative 2 or more. Today I was waiting to be seated. There was a couple in front of me. The server/hostess finally approached with a big smile, asking, Table for 4? , looking at my small dog as the fourth , welcoming her as well. I was initially very flattered at the warm welcome, then replied that I was not with the couple in front of me. She sat them, then returned with a far less welcoming demeanor, and told me that since it was a busy day, she would be unable to allow me to eat there with my dog, because some people have allergies (my dog is a breed that people with dog allergies own, due to her hypoallergenic nature, incidentally). Odd that she failed to mention this when she thought I was a part of a larger paying group. Obviously my money and myself aren 't worth the trouble in her eyes unless I have more people with me. Never mind that I tip more for good service when I dine alone, and require less attention as a single diner, and the table gets turned over faster. I was thoroughly disgusted at the experience, walked down the street to Alchemy was warmly welcomed... Along with at least 4 other diners with dogs, in their outdoor dining area. I 'll never patronize this business again, with or without other diners, with or without my dog."
