"Awful experience, mediocre food, poor service, bad management. I don 't usually write negative reviews, but Blazing Onion in Newcastle deserves it. I want to make this clear up front: Our waitress did her best and is NOT to blame for this. I hope if management reads this, they understand. We arrived at about 6:30pm on a weekday and the restaurant was practically empty. The hostess told us to seat ourselves on the patio. Our waitress, Anna, brought us menus and water promptly. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Great. Drinks came out about ten minutes later; a little slow, but not a big deal. Waitress took our order. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. Half an hour went by. At no point were we asked if we 'd like another round of drinks. Our entrees came out... but no appetizer. We asked if it got lost, and were told it would be coming right up. It didn 't show up until we were more than half way done with our dinner. At that point, we said we didn 't want it any more. The burgers were supposed to come with bottomless fries, but they never asked if we wanted more, etc. We finished our entrees and told our server that we totally understood that they were under-staffed etc. but would like to speak to a manager about our experience. She told us they would comp one of our meals. Great. That 'd be cool with us. The Shift Supervisor came out and talked to us. We explained what happened. She told us the best she could do was give us 10% off our entrees. She wouldn 't comp one entrée, as the server had suggested, or our drinks, or anything else. Now, let 's talk about the food. Their $14 French dip sandwich was two plain burger patties with cheese and onions, and some very obviously pre-packaged au jus mix. It was mediocre at best and to be honest, that 's being generous. The only good part of the meal was the fries. If the manager had been apologetic and comp 'ed some of our meal, I would have let it go... but this was awful. We will definitely not go back, and will t"
