"We went here for my friend's birthday and it was my first time coming to this place. When we were seated, our waiter came to ask us for any drinks to get us started and we told him we wanted to do wine tasting. He told us to hold on a second and walked off. He went to talk to a coworker and came back 5 minutes later. Then he took our wine choices. Proceeding the night, he wasn't too attentive of us and when he took our entree order, we had to repeat it three times because 2 of those times he was looking at other waiters and customers. So after the third time, he finally got our order right and went to put it in. Keep in mind it was only 2 of us and we ordered very simple entrees. When we were done he asked for any desserts and I told him we were celebrating a birthday and if the restaurant did anything for birthdays. He looked at my friend (birthday girl) and said no. That I had to buy a dessert and the restaurant doesn't offer it. I was honestly shocked on the way he said it and his only solution was for it to be bought. I've worked at restaurants before and instead of saying no, we usually just got a manager and the manager would decide to approve something or not. He didn't even offer to talk to a manager. So then I just asked for the check. Another server came by and asked if we were okay and I asked him about birthday desserts. This nice, young man said that the restaurant DID do birthday desserts and that he would work something out. He came back very quickly with a birthday dish and was very nice and attentive of us afterwards. Definitely made the night more better for us than our original waiter."

"we love this restaurant. we often go. we have a rookie server, cold suppe, hard lamb and just a mediocre experience this time. Other tabs had much better service. we said to our waiter, we're celebrating two birthdays when we arrived and he forgot. we went without dessert, disappointed."

"they met with friends for dinner on Saturday night. the restaurant was very crowded, but the reservation was ready when we went into the door. cocktails were ordered by everyone and they were very good. the special of the evening was parmesan risotto with braided short ribs and my friend said it was delicious. my man had the laughs and said it was the best laugh he ever had. I myself and the other friend with whom we ordered the rústico ribeye. while tasty, both were better made than we had ordered, but very large portions. dessert came and each of us ordered another dessert. I would recommend the cannoli and cocosnus cake with cocosgelat. we will definitely come back!"

"The place was off the beaten path. Service was very good they explain some of the items which we inquired it. Place was sort of soft wasn't quite as loud as other places. The appetizers calamari was grilled with tomatoes spinach white beans and a wonderful source with it the other appetizer was shrimp on a skewer and that was terrific. Two main courses one was pork thin sliced with a very nice source with that. And the penny with the Regatta the sausage and the source was just delightful all in all it was a wonderful experience I recommend it."

"This was a good restaurant. We did have to return one of the filets for being overcooked, but the second attempt was much better. They octopus and the lamb sausage appetizers were fantastic, and the squid ink spaghetti was great. The filets were good, and the overall meal was good. The price point is a bit much for the atmosphere. The portions are a proper size, enough to fill you up without overserving you. I would try this place again."

"During my first visit, the restaurant was very busy and clearly understaffed. There were only two waitresses, but they were trying their best. The food arrived cold, but it was clear that they were doing their best under the circumstances. There were people waiting to be seated and the busboy was very professional and helpful. Hopefully, they will get more help soon. I recommend giving them a try and I will definitely be back for another meal."

"Mama Thai has pretty good food; however, it?s very much over priced for the amount of food you receive. When I order noodles in place of rice, they always charge me for the upgrade. Now, not only do they charge for the upgrade from white rice to whitenoodles, Mama Thai gives you less noodles. It?s just ridiculous. When I spoke with the restaurant about the increase in priceand decrease in food; they lied directly to my face. They said, we?ve always packaged this amount of noodles. It was so untrue,that the restaurant took the container and added noodles to it. It?s not the money, it?s the nickel and diming behavior toregular patrons; and lieing directly to my face. Im very disappointed with mama Thai?s."

"I love their grilled chicken sandwich but the past two times I've ordered I didn't get what I asked for on it... I ordered tonight July 6, 2022 I asked for American cheese, grilled onions, mayonnaise, mustard and hot peppers... I was charged for cheese but didn't get a slice on my sandwich. And I heard the cashier tell the cook twice to add cheese. I ordered last week the same way but they forgot the onions... Not realizing both times until I got home. And of course they are closed now because it's after 9:30pm. I will be calling in the morning. I need for them to pay attention. Here it is two years later and the same thing happened today August 8, 2024. I paid for cheese and didn't get any on my sandwich and they never answer their phone smh "

"Our go-to place since it opened, but service and attention to detail has been poor lately. Last week the sauces were left out. Today one of the bowls we ordered was missing. "Staff is very friendly my family eats here all the time but maybe I made the mistake and asked them not to fry my orange roughy hard and it was under cooked and the smell wasn't good either lesson learned went back again why did I do that this time my fish was paper thin hard like it snapped in two there quality is definitely not the same sad because they are nice people not sure if there is a different cook or who ever they are buying there orange roughy from is not good not to mention they take one piece of fish and split it down the middle to sell it as 2 pieces NOW THATS CRAZY and when I ask to leave my pieces whole and don't cut them they double charge orange roughy already isn't a big piece of fish why are yall cutting them up but nevertheless I'm looking for a new fish market sadly !!!!"

"I absolutely adore the food at this restaurant. It’s exactly what I would cook for myself if I had the time. My favorite dish is the beet burger salad, while my partner loves the vegan gyro. The mashed sweet potato is also divine. The only letdown for us has been the nachos, which are quite ordinary. If you opt for takeout, be sure to double-check your order before leaving as they can be a bit forgetful and may miss a side dish. However, don't let that stop you from trying their delicious and reasonably priced food."

"I had the fresh grilled lake white fish with broccoli, Greek grilled chicken salad with egg, Clamp shouter soup. The food was very good. I could tell they're proud to please hungry customers like me. FRESH FRESH FRESH!!!! Just right seasoned..... Perfect The clamp shouter (because it was Friday) had real fresh clamps in it with a nice balanced flavor. Usually I have to search for the clamps lol... The local fish (I really appreciate it) was grilled nicely to the point. Not beating around the bushes.... I'll looking forward to try this people more often with my high expectations in the future.... and I'm sure they will meet my high expectations. Thanks for a great experience!!!"

"Blended grown up slurpees. Yummy. Food looks lovely however some dishes are Americanized. Don't do hard shell tacos unless you want Taco Bell taco shells. I was just there on 8/1 and my girlfriend ordered the hard shell tacos like I said she wasn't happy. However we kept enjoying ourselves and didn't even complain Now the owner wants to come on and basically call me a liar and say that they have rave reviews tell you what you try it and be the judge."

"Mulata is an absolute gem in the Chicago area and an Oak Park treasure! I can't help but give them 5 stars because they truly deserve it. The chicken empanadas here are simply incredible – so moist and bursting with flavor. As a Brazilian expat, the taste instantly takes me back to the flavors of my homeland. But it doesn't stop at empanadas. The Bobo, PF, and Feijoada are all delicious, and I can honestly say that I've never had a meal here that wasn't amazing. The food is a delightful journey through Brazilian cuisine, and it's evident that the chefs put heart and soul into each dish. And let's not forget the treats! They are to die for! Every visit is a delightful experience for the taste buds and Mulata is a must-visit for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Brazil right here in Chicago. Thank you, Cristiane for bringing a slice of our homeland to the Windy City. I can't recommend this place enough. Obrigado!
