"Today's episode of #roadfill comes from Osseo Family Restaurant in Osseo, Wisconsin. This eatery is located within an independent truck stop near the Interstate and I always try to stop at these non-chain locals. The independents usually try harder than the big faceless chains, and this goes for the fuel prices, the quality of food and customer service. I went to the restaurant for breakfast and found it pretty busy with their main demographics. The restaurant was quite large and could accommodate a large number of patrons in stands as well as along the counters. The attentive servers were efficient in serving and keep the restaurant clean. Truckers do not tend to search for Bohemian style dishes. Instead, they prefer meat and potatoes style; the house boiled flavor and offers that you simply do not find in chain restaurants. I prefer home boiled taste too, but my wife cooking is unmatched, so I am always looking forward to home for 'real food'. The menu had these standard meal times, such as pork chops and liver bulbs, that you do not find in 'fine' restaurants. As breakfast I chose Polish sausage and eggs, ash brown with rosin toast. I really liked their coffee price: $1.49 per floorless cup. That sounds like my good white garbage coffee. Of course I ordered a cup and found it pretty good truckstop mud. Do not remember Starbucks, but without the Pomp and the circumstance. My server would make a point to keep my cup full. The meal just arrived. The sausage was juicy and tasty with a lot of taste. I prefer a good Kielbasa in the AM about the "ready" breakfast sausage. Eggs were noticeable and hashbrowns were light and fluffy. The opportunity to order Raisin Toast was nice and helped me make sure I had some fruit with my meal. Two forks up!"
