"We booked a double room in the castle about a week before the time, because our other hotel had problems and had to leave. The castle is easy to reach by car, foot (but ready for a walk uphill), or shuttle bus that leads to the castle museum. The staff who welcomed us were very friendly and accommodating. They helped us get a wine cup full of ice to cool wine we had brought. The only disappointment was the room itself. If you think to stay in a castle, you see a room that seems to belong in a castle. But the room did not reflect this idea at all, except some drapes over the headboard. It was dated, Drab and made you feel like you paid for a space. It breaks the magic of a romantic castle stay. A coat of color, furniture that felt more “regal” and art that reflected the castle would go such a long way to fully enjoy the experience. However, the view from the large terrace was breathtaking. It allowed us a private area to drink wine, relax and observe the river. Dinner was nice and breakfast was generous. Be very careful when booking. I don't think they make it quite clear enough that many of the rooms are not in the castle itself, but in the building next door. You have to pay more to be in the castle. The photos of the Deluxe room use photos of castle and villa, but you need to scroll down and find the list that says deluxe rooms in castle."
