"Instead of leaving a generic 5-star rating, I wanted to go a bit deeper. The entire crew at Tamaqua Station Restaurant was extremely helpful and very courteous. I recommend STRONGLY reservations before your visit, and if you are ever delayed, call and let them know. Totalambiance: While you go to the restaurant, you are greeted by a very rustic and beautifully held foyer with 2 dining rooms left and right, along with a more casual bar area right in front. We decided to sit in one of the dining rooms, a kiss of ancient art, colour, flooring and a couple of age-appropriate jazz to go with the vibe. The seating patterns were correct and had enough space if you had a big party. This was a overall thumb up because I always love a restaurant with a small story behind it. Staff: Absolutely no complaints, from hostess to our server, along with a visit from the owner to see how we were. Our server also did an exemplary job and accelerated the meal accordingly. There was never a rush to end our food, and no one waited over our shoulders to free us from plates or get into conversations. Again a wonderful example of how to serve your restaurant. Food: The menu is wonderful, with only enough to satisfy anyone who is a bit picky. The specialties were also an additional plus and sound delicious. Speaking of specials, I ordered the Prime Rib with Creamy Ranch Maische and teriyaki-glazed snow peas. I chose the Bleu salad, which was a plumber of your typical green, along with glazed walnuts, pears and delicious Gorgonzola. Everything was so well tied together, incredibly fresh and cooked for perfection. The main rib was SPOT ON, although I was informed that since it was later at night, it could be medium in contrast to medium wheel, that was more than fine. If you get a chance to order this special, I would also recommend to go the creamy horseradish with it. My fiancée ordered the Veal-Oscar, with the soup du Jour (the French onion or Chicken Quesadilla was). The Veal Oscar had a nice cut of Veal on a bed delicious lump crab, tied together with a creamy Hollandaise sauce. Did I mention that the French onion soup was the best I had in the area? I also forgot our appetizer that was the roasted mozzarella... and was a delicious and quirky turn on mozzarella sticks. There is a short break before your main course comes, after your salad or soup you Jour appetizers. The restaurant has its sorbet of the day in a beautiful small shot glass to clean your palette for your duck, which is brilliant. I could go over the food for days, but you just have to try it yourself. Price: The proverb is old and is absolutely true... You get what you pay. Not only did we get what we paid last night, we got more. I digresse, fine food is a bit more expensive than the run of the Applebee mill 's trip, but everything in the Tamaqua Station restaurant was very cheap! Scanning their drinks menu, there was a busy selection of remarkable wines and cocktails, all more than fair as well. All in all, you won 't infamous and gouged on your food or cocktails, and everything was very reasonable for the quality of the food that is served. Conclusion: The Tamaqua Station restaurant is a hidden gem in the mountains. I loved everything about our visit from beginning to end, and the history related to the restaurant was pretty tied. I have no handles over two hours from my day for a really pleasant, fun and delicious experience. This will definitely be a stop for me in the future, because I would absolutely love to get to brunch at a certain point. I really hope the owners and employees continue to do what they do because it works so well."
