"Arrived to a quaint, cozy restaurant for a visit on a Saturday night for date night. We were personally greeted warmly by Serge, a passionate chef who definitely is accomplished and proud of his work. Contemplating the menu and wanting to start with a bunch of apps, we were told that under no conditions could we place an order for just apps and THEN order our entrees- we had to order our entire meal. We had no idea what we wanted for entrees and wanted to sample the apps first, but were given no other choice. We get that with kitchen timing and all... however, at their price point (high) AND the fact we were willing to accept delays in our meal delivery because WE wanted to dine the way we preferred, you would think that was ok.. but no. Not just a polite no, but an ADAMANT no. Yikes. Ok. Ok, so we got past that and ordered the oil poached carrots (deliciously executed and the sauce was divine) the falafel plate (tasty, but only 2 small falafel for $16.. and the smoked eggplant (exquisite Looking forward to our entrees , we were both sadly disappointed. The lamb was cooked perfectly to my request, however it was served to me cold, had ZERO seasoning (not even salt and pepper and with the same sauce used on the falafel plate- which was far too delicate and did not highlight the hearty lamb. The trout was also perfectly cooked, however, served on a HUGE bed of cold chickpeas with a green sauce that was also flavorless. Both entrees made for a very strange combination of hot and cold, and sadly lacked the flavor our appetizers had... and we were not impressed. At almost $40 per entree, it was a letdown. Not to be discouraged, we ordered coffee and an espresso and dessert. The espresso was served spilled all over the plate and was not espresso but a thin, watery concoction that wasn't even coffee. The coffee was also horrible. A second server happened by the table and upon seeing what we were served, apologized for the other waiter, swept our beverages away and brought us new, better coffees. The dessert (a toffee pudding) was tasty. Overall, not great, not overly horrible. The disappointment comes from paying almost $300 for dinner and not being able to enjoy the meal the way we had wanted to, from having dishes served that were temperature confused lacked flavor and a mediocre waitstaff experience. Maybe it was a off night. Maybe it's up and down like so many of the reviews on here seem to indicate. I believe the heart is in the right place, but somehow the execution isn't right on My suggestion is to go there and give it a try- but order apps only It's worth a visit."

"My wife, sister-in-law, nephew and sister-in-law went to my sister-in-law on 5/7/2022. My wife and sister-in-law are half Armenian. Let me first say that the old house, which is located in the restaurant, has a lot of character and offers beautiful ambience for the culinary experience. We started ordering roasted eggplants and roasted chicken wings. My sister-in-law said that the roasted eggplant was the same that her mother used her father when they grew up. The chicken wings were extremely tasty and were served over a salad from this world. My main course was the Moroccan chicken bastilla, which was tastefully seasoned, with what my wife tasted like cinnamon, and the pastry case in which she was served was tender and liquid. My nephew had the flank steak he said was Oh my God, that's so good. My wife had the dorms while my sister-in-law had the scallops. My sister-in-law commented that the size of the scallops and the portion size was perfect. The portion sizes were simple enough to you want more, but don't leave you hungry. Trust me you want seconds, so good. The coating was very skillful, very clean and welcoming. The deserts we ordered ranged from cheesecake and from baklava to sticky cake. All deserts were well made and very artistically presented. The owner came past a point to see how everything was and was very personal, polite and engaged. My wife, sister-in-law and the owner spoke in Armenian and Arabic and talked about where another part of their families came from. We will certainly go back for more in the future. If you are in the area or visit, you will pay them a visit. They won't be disappointed. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation."
