"I have visited OAE for the past four years for my birthday. The only year that I did not go is when they went Mexican. The first year I went was phenomenal. I even got a recipe from the chef in exchange for a review. Last year was phenomenal. The choices were different but they still had an excellent prix fixe menu. We went back an additional night and bought three dinners and a peach and berry crumble because the food was so good. Today I am appalled that I spent 137.00 for our dinners. The bitter for the bread has changed and lacked taste. The serving portions were very small for the money. Four sea scallops, 12 green beans and a 1/3 cup of mashed potatoes was sparse for 28 dollars. My daughters 25 dollar steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was cooked to medium well. The steak was very small so I did not notice it was over cooked Until we were at home looking in the cardboard take home containers we were given. How tacky? I was angry that I paid for the steak as I did not know it was not cooked correctly until I got home. The fried chicken lacked seasoning but was not dry which was great. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese that seemed old. I also ordered a negroni that was garnished with a lemon wedge instead an orange peel. That's a big deal for a whiskey bar. I was honest with the waiter and manager who were more interested in me mispronouncing prix fixe. The manager really needs some work in the area of customer service. His position and the chef could bring down the whole establishment. Just sad...I don't mind paying a lot for the food if it is awesome. The menu has dwindled along with the choices. The meat selections that were awesome have been replaced with burgers. Burgers and whiskey, really? This used to be the highlight of our stay but it has come to an end."

"If only there was an option to leave a negative star. I can not even put into words how awful my experience was sitting at the bar. This has been one of my favorite restaurants to go to on Cape Cod since they opened and unfortunately I will never ever go back. I am horrified by whoever not only did the hiring but also the training of the bar staff. I have been in the industry my entire life and have never seen anything like I did tonight. it started with the bar staff doing their side work at 7pm and rushing us out before even getting a seat at the bar. I kid you not, mid bite I was asked if I was done and if they could take the plate to clear it. After barley having the chance to finish our meals, I asked for a dessert menu and was given an eye roll and sadly this aspect of my experience made the rest look like a walk in the park. Katie, the bartender not only spent her night flirting with a guy at the bar but when we we’re trying to get her attention for something she responded with “is there something on my shirt and when we responded “no“ she asked if there was something on his because she was making it known that she was with that guy and wanted to make that clear. Katie spent the talking to herself and making multiple trips to the storage room. When she wasn’t having a conversation with herself she spent the night staring at us talking to Rebecca, another bartender, who also ended up being a nightmare. At the end of the night she took our dessert that was not finished and told us to leave at 9:03pm because they were closed when there were multiple paying customers at tables and bar seats. I have never regretted spending $200 at a restaurant and as a local will make sure to let everyone know that if they want a front row seat to a trip down memory lane at the middle school cafeteria Estia is your spot! Truly embarrassed for the owners of this establishment."
