"This is our second visit to this restaurant with friends that live in Soldotna and love this restaurant. I concur with evaluation as our meals today were excellent. They are the only restaurant in Kenia/Soldotna area to have an extensive fresh salad bar, homemade soups, fresh baked bread and desserts as a serve yourself with unlimited trips and for $15.00. Three of us had the soup and salad bar lunch and the fourth had a fried halibut basket with fries. The items on the salad bar, were fresh and plentiful. They had a choice of four dressings and vinegar and oil. Both olive oil and balsamic vinegar were in cruet's for your self-pour. The bread sticks were crunchy and flavorful. You good choose one or all of three hot soups. One was Beef and Barley, one creamy potato and bacon and my personal favorite was the Spicy Chicken Tortilla. The broth was full and mildly spicy, the chicken was shredded and plentiful, with cilantro, corn, potato and onions. You had a choice of tortillas strips, crackers, or croutons to add to any of the soups. You could have one or all of the soups. The two dessert choices were pineapple upside down cake or pumpkin pie. I had a small piece of each. The pineapple upside down cake was a little dry but the topping was delicious with the flavor of the pineapple, butter and brown sugar cooked to perfection. The pumpkin pie was seasoned well and the crust was homemade flour based and cooked about 90% thru with 10% raw batter nearest to the filling. It was still a good tasting piece of pumpkin pie that was restaurant made and not from a local grocery store. We had unsweetened ice tea and coffee. This two was unlimited and our wonderfully efficient and friendly waitress keep our glasses and cup filled repeatedly. The three medium sized pieces of breaded halibut the my wife had were well cooked with the batter crispy and attached to the halibut. The halibut was white, flaky and moist and my wife said the taste was excellent. She had a modest portion of French Fries that well done and tasty. Because she did not have the unlimited salad bar she chose a piece of cheesecake with strawberry sauce and whipped cream. She declared it outstanding and she was in love with it. The prices were reasonable, the food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. This restaurant is well decorated with a tasteful decor of a restaurant that uses white table clothes, real china cups, glasses and silverware. They serve a variety of dishes from seafood, steaks and Mexican dishes. The have ample seating and would be good for families and large groups as well as an intimate special occasions for two. I would encourage anyone in the Kenia/Soldotna area to seek out this restaurant as an great place to have lunch or dinner."

"Addie Camp seems to be THE place to go in town. We made a last minute (night before) reservation and was able to get a seat in the rail car for dinner. It's super cool and cozy and fun that we were able to open our window when it got stuffy. We started with the Tuna Tots which has small tot looking rice balls topped with a ton of fresh tuna bites. The sauce and accompaniments made it a very sharable starter, super tasty and refreshing. I decided on the Salmon Noodle Bowl I added the Chili Crisp later as I'd forgotten when I ordered and so glad I did. I was thinking to put it on the side because my partner can't do too much heat but I picked around it for her bites. I cleaned the bowl! I loved it and writing about it would love to have that bowl in front of me again. My partner got the Crab Pasta. It was also really good and we weren't able to finish it. It got a bit redundant and boring after about half way through. It needed something to break it up a bit. Luckily, my dish did that but it was hard to overlook the abundance of crab shell and lack of punch after awhile. Our server was new and didn't know a lot about the menu which was a bit of a bummer. We got the Train Track mocktails which were a little on the sour side but we finished them. We skipped dessert as we were stuffed but will definitely keep Addie Camp on our list for when we're in the area fishing again."

"During my time at Arby's, I had both positive and negative experiences. One of the standout positives was Amanda, an exceptional manager who truly brightened the work environment. Working alongside Amanda was a delight, as her leadership and positivity made a significant difference. Unfortunately, the atmosphere took a turn for the worse when Clay joined the team. His presence seemed to bring discomfort to the entire workplace. Regrettably, my decision to leave didn't sit well with Clay, leading to unprofessional behavior. He not only retaliated against me but also discriminated against me to my sister, who was also an employee at the time. One incident that stands out is when Clay made discriminatory comments about me to my sister, crossing a line that was both hurtful and inappropriate. Throughout my tenure, staffing shortages were a consistent issue at Arby's, which placed additional stress on the team. On a positive note, I've heard that improvements have been made in this regard since last year. Looking back, I still carry the impact of the negative experiences I had at Arby's. The fact that Clay's behavior escalated to the point of threatening my grandmother after she tried to reason with him is deeply unsettling. This incident led my grandmother to pick up my sister from Arby's and resign as well. In summary, my time at Arby's had its bright moments thanks to Amanda's leadership, but Clay's behavior and the negative encounters left a lasting impression. I sincerely hope that the management has taken steps to address these issues and create a more inclusive and respectful work environment for the current staff."

"A little back story: Six years ago I lived on the peninsula and would go to Sal 's every week after bowling since it was one of the only restaurants open. I would sit on the mini stools and enjoy the sights, sounds, and action. The kitchen drama could get heated at times, but always stopped short of flying dishes. The patrons could be loud, but always stopped short of fisticuffs. The lines at the register could get long, but the customers stopped short of losing patience. Often, it could take a few minutes to get inside so I would throw a quarter in the candy machine and squeeze through the crowd. Once I found a spot I would read the paper or the historic menu. As far as food is concerned I rate myself an expert for only one menu item. I have ordered the Alaskan Burger at least 20 times and it is always juicy and satisfying. Recently, I had an opportunity to visit Sal 's after a 6 year hiatus and it did not disappoint. On my recent visit I took family, with whom I was able to share memories, on our way to the restaurant. The restaurant was packed solid, but we were able to get a table behind the row of stools. I anxiously waited for some diner fireworks. The staff was in the weeds and I heard one server say, It 's 11 so I 'm out of here, as she walked into the kitchen and out of sight. I knew service would be slow the rest of the way. Our server was nice, friendly, and did a great job considering she was deserted. I ordered the Alaskan, which, as usual, was tasty just like I remembered. Everyone at our table was happy with the food. Sal 's is a diner and with a diner comes grease, drama, and darn good people watchin '. You are going to get diner coffee, diner service, and diner food. If you want a meal that will fill your belly or soak up libations then this is the place. In the diner world Sal 's ranks highly. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have."
