"It's not too often that I fall in love with a place that I write a review before I even go, but this point did that for me! It's a fuke I landed here and drove 20 minutes out of my way, because after an appointment in downtown Portland I was thrilled to try a new place for breakfast. When I walked a few blocks, I finally found a business whose "Massak's mandated" shield said it was because of the city of Portland that it... again. OK, looks like I have to get out of town, because I don't spend my money on companies that push their misguided “health” ideals on me. I did a quick search in Westbrook, and Roots was one of the first cafes to show up. Good luck! Not only do they let us be free to share positive vibes by SMILING, they only serve organic coffee, make their food from scratch, and all their pastries are gluten-free for those who need it. It is a beautifully designed, somewhat large café that seems to be connected to a church next door, but I do not think that, although I am not religious myself. It's about spreading love here! Even their salt and pepper shakers! I will be happy to come out of the way to visit Roots when you come to the Portland area!"
