"Downtown Wylie is the perfect place for breakfast! We’ve lived here for 16 years and have never gotten tired of Ballard Street Cafe, if anything we simply love it more with time. It’s family owned and currently open breakfast and lunch. Both menus have many delicious options! This morning we sat at the bar for breakfast about 9a on a Sunday with no wait. My partner ordered the blue plate special, 2 eggs and fried bologna, and I had the Mexicali scramble, we shared 4 sausage links. Everything was delicious. Love this place. I haven't had a bad food item there. The onion rings and homemade pies and brownies are amazing.

Located in Wylie’s cute historic downtown area, this charming cafe has decent food at affordable prices and decent portion sizes. It was recommended to us by a friend and I am glad that I had an occasion to dine there.

There is nothing I love more than good southern food that taste like it came right out of my grandmother‘s kitchen. Here I am just a day later wishing I had leftovers and wanting to go get some more. I love that. I just live around the corner so I can go get some anytime. The hospitality of the employees and some thing as someone who grew up with family who owned small diners, coffee, shops, and donut shops I noticed was it was very clean, not just in the dining area, but also in the back and everyone’s hands and nails were clean, and everyone was very respectful. "We love the location and still stop in on occasion to check out the merchandise and get a coffee. Unfortunately, it’s just changed too much since it was sold and the quality and quantity of merchandise has declined in both regards. We used to buy gifts for the whole family throughout the year, now it’s even more of a coffee shop to hang out at. The coffee drinks are good, sweet, but good, so I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. Service varies, but is generally friendly."

"This was my first time here. The food was great I really like the salmon.It was large and tasty. The guy up front was nice. It was almost the perfect night, but found a piece of what looked like a small plastic zip tie lock at the bottom of my glass. Showed it to the guy up front.I had no idea where it came from. I didn?t make a big deal or want to be to harsh because the food and service were so good. It?s probably just incidental. I would love to give this place 5 stars and come back, but a little quality reassurance would be nice."

"I enjoyed my Eggs Benedict..hubbs wasn't thrilled with his standard eggs, bacon, hashbrown.. Servers took a minute to acknowledge you. After we got our ticket they we're very friendly. First timers get a free cinnamon pancake. Pretty tasty.. I'd diffently go back and try it.."

"In general, I give this rating 5 stars for everything in terms of service and food. My favorite Mexican food restaurant. There is only 1 cashier who is nice, the others should have a better face for the customer regardless of stress and fatigue. "I like to start by saying that I couldn't commit to giving this place 4 stars and that if I could I would give 3.5. To start off, this restaurant had good food I really enjoyed it but the drinks were not very good (their happy hour margaritas were entirely too sweet) and the service was very bad. When we came in we were the only table, but despite it being slow we felt like we were rushed by the server the entire time. Our server kept coming over trying to rush our food, didn't even offer the dessert menu when we were done with our entrees, and immediately gave us our check and tried to cash us out. The food was really good but that bad service put a bad taste in my mouth, that and the bad drinks. When it comes to the food, it was all delicious though. We had the Street Corn, the Chimichanga, and the Pork Tamales and it was all very good, cooked perfectly and had so much flavor the salsa was good as well. I'm trying to debate whether I'll come back or not because of knowing what I can expect, but at least know that they do have good food."
