"We stopped here on our recent visit to Napa Valley for Lunch. Food was good. But service was not. Children did not seem to be welcome here. We were party of 8+ 1 toddler. Our server seemed rude and tired. No smiles at all. While placing our orders we were asking questions and her replies sounded like 'seriously you don 't even know this ' or 'don 't you understand in one time '. When we asked her to repeat the available dressings, it seemed to me she made a face and then with super great efforts repeated it so fast that i was again not able to listen. I felt so nervous, i just said yes this one...lol All in all the server ruined our mood and did not try to make us comfortable at all."

Pathetic service. The server had so much attitude for no reason and also apparently she was the manager. I wonder what the whole place would be when manager is like this. They charged 18% gratuity by duping us by adding it to the bill directly when we were a party of 4. Never coming back to this place.

This makes us sad! We are so sorry to hear that this restaurant is closed and will be rebranding. We have been regulars here for years. We wish John the best in whatever he does next. I'm sorry for those whose reviewers were less than stellar. We have always received good service and good food. We wish the employees well as well!

"We chose Lovina for obvious reasons during our last visit to Calistoga. I had heard both great and not so great reviews about the impossibility of Lasagna. After I tried, I can't imagine how someone could say they didn't like it. It was just amazing! Very tasteful, perfectly prepared pasta, and so creamy and tasty. We actually went twice (two birthdays) and the first time I ordered the Impossible Bolognese and it was very good, but the Lasagne is the real star. There are two vegan desserts that are mentioned byt vegan cheesecake and a date / chocolate dish. I prefer the cheesecake by far. And thank you for Lovina as Calistoga is otherwise a vegan food desert Updated from previous review on 2023-04-12"

"that was a nice place for a quiet lunch with a friend. the menu was diverse and interesting. portions were just suitable for lunch. the waitress was kind and didn't hurry. we ate inside, because it was a little cool to sit outside. the dining room has a beautiful atmosphere and there is plenty of space between tables."

"I was so excited to dine at Evangeline on our vacation but the excitement quickly turned to disappointment and frustration. I don’t usually leave reviews online and like to give the benefit of the doubt for sub-par experiences but this was on another level. To start, we had a reservation and were seated promptly. We quickly received our drink orders and apps. The Brussels and bread were great, the fried pickles weren’t my favorite but that’s ok. Where the frustration comes in is after this point. We waited over half an hour (for real, I confirmed on the clock using 10 minutes after check in time as the baseline- we were a bit early so may have been longer than that) until our waiter came back to the table to ask for our order for mains. At that point, other tables had been served, had orders taken, etc. it felt like we were the table that our waiter decided to ignore. Other tables were also cashed out ahead of us, even later in the night when we had our payment ready before them.We were polite, we were ready when he came, I don’t know of any faux pas or protocol we could have inadvertently violated. It felt like he just decided that it was ok to ignore us. We ended up just ordering a side and dessert to get out of there quickly as it felt like we weren’t wanted or cared for there and were not valued guests. I travel frequently, I’m always excited to try new places and appreciative for the work and care by restauranteurs and waitstaff, I was so disappointed to have made such a bad choice at the place where I was on vacation and to have this disheartening experience. It may have just been a bad night but a simple “sorry, we’re busy, I’ll be with you as soon as I can” would have worked wonders to make this a better experience."

"This is amazing place. Great food, one of the best Thai we had in recent times. There was just one server but to my surprise she managed all tables to perfectly. We never felt any delays or any impact of just one server and 7+ tables. We loved this place !! "If this is what they call barbecue in Sonoma, then it's really sad. We went at approximately 6 pm and ordered tri tip and the spicy links, as well as the baked beans and chili beans. The tri tip was super dry and devoid of any flavor. It was not seasoned at all, had zero smokiness, even if it was just grilled. The links, were at best average, and the chili beans were just foul. We took a bite of each item and left the plate on the table. This is NOT southern barbecue, and I don't even know what to call it. We left and went to a sports bar that had much better food. The ladies taking the order were nice."
