"I went here for the first time today and I was originally a little stressed out because the wait was a lot longer than expected but the food and smoothies I got were INCREDIBLE! Oh my god, really really delicious. Better than I was hoping. I totally want to come back but in the future I'll probably order online ahead of time to avoid waiting too long.Vegetarian options: They have lots of stuff on the menu marked V for vegan and Veg for vegetarian"

I think the best thing about this place besides the coffee . . . and the food . . . and the ambiance . . . and the location . . . is that it has a wall with a painted on tree with squares on it to place receipts that are already paid so people can get a coffee or occasionally a sandwich if someone isn't as fortunate as others. The cafe is inclusive and the staff is very friendly.

I ordered a bacon,egg,and cheese. And let me tell you it was the best sandwich I had in my 12 years of life. The egg was perfectly cooked and the bacon was crispy with meaty cheese.2 people at the gas station recommended them and they were right. Best sandwich ever!!! 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a quick morning meal! You don’t even need ketchup, that’s how juicy it was!

"Used to eat at The Palms when Rick and Mary owned and was sad when it closed. Never realized it had reopened under new ownership until my son in law invited us to my daughters birthday dinner. So thrilled to have a local restaurant that offers a delicious selection of appetizers entrees and deserts. The wait staff first class, the atmosphere was quaint cozy and comfortable but most of all the food was amazing. I had an opportunity to sample the Coconut Shrimp with Raspberry sauce and it was delectable. We attended on a Friday so I ordered the broiled, lemon peppered fish (haddock) with chips. I was well satisfied and looking forward to our next Friday night. For desert our party sampled a variety of treats all equally gratifying. I had the Creme Brulee, it was treat. What a serendipity night. Only regret is not knowing it had been open for several years now."

"The ice cream was good, fair, priced, and served by a friendly staff. Fair warning, if you order the large size cone you will need a flatbed truck to get it home. Seriously, their sizes are extremely generous."

"We live on Long Island, NY and we have three German restaurants within 14 miles of us.But none of those restaurant’s German food comes anywhere close to the quality the Octoberfest dinners Charlies Café offered us.The food was just delicious. Absolutely the best potato pancakes I have ever tasted. And the red cabbage was freshly made, not something preprocessed.My Pork Schnitzel was crisp and tasty and my wife raved about her Stuffed Cabbage. I tasted it and it wasn’t the standard dull, mild meal so common everywhere else but had a tasty flavor to it.We were here in Elmira just one night and totally glad we visited Charlies Café."
