"sweetness shop with restaurant top, much character. all staff were very nice and friendly. we went to breakfast and bought some sweets on our way. the breakfast was delicious with a good selection of menu items. but overpriced for portion sizes. we waited a long time for our food and a long time to get our bill, although it was not very busy. a private bathroom opens directly into the dining room, which is unpleasant. the restaurant was on a big staircase and the elevator was out of order. this was a good place to stop when they visit our city, but I wouldn't go back here."

"I made reservations for my birthday dinner with my friend and me. the service was great and punctual with everything. eating was great and of good quality. mike was polite and efficient when he took my reservation and taylor did a great job to serve us. the rest of the crew that helped to clean our table was also generous. we're coming back!"

"My dining companion and I stopped for a late lunch at The Vierling today on the recommendation of a local salesperson. We were seated in a nice spot in the dining area overlooking Lake Superior. I wanted to try the fresh whitefish and my friend chose the black bean burger. Unfortunately the fish was in some kind of batter that was greasy and unappetizing as the onion rings were also. The two different beers that we ordered were mediocre. It was not busy at 3:30 in the afternoon but once our food was served we never saw our waitress again. We waited and waited for her to return to request mustard for the burger that was on the dry side but she didn’t come back until we were almost finished with our meal. This was the second time in a year that we dined here with the first time being underwhelming. We only went back a second time because I wanted to have some fresh Lk. Superior fish and the salesperson told us they served great fish. We won’t be going back."

"we tried border grill recently to see what it was about. the restaurant was clean, a few people were fed in, and the staff welcomed us. we told them we were new and the money explained very helpful how the dinge worked. we chose the gourmet burrito with carnitas, the smokey burrito with huh and two steak tacos with maistortillas. I didn't know I had to order the kind of salsa I wanted with the chips, so until later. that was eating pretty fast and we dig in. the burritos were made generous, wrapped in flour tortillas that had been pressed after the construction to put some crabs in them. were plentiful, and we generally thought the burritos were ok. they didn't knock our socks off, but I couldn't say they were bad. I tried the standard salsa they gave but realized that there had absolutely zero heat, so I asked about their spiciest (fuego that had actually a cumulative heat and was good. overall, it was a good place to eat, and we would come back."
