"we have come to parlour for our annual high-time trips to stratford. in the rule the first night in the city and it was always good. this time, however, the bar was raised and now has become an extraordinary culinary experience. I recommend the caramelized cowards as starters. wow, that was good, and I'm not a coward in that. I also had the braided beef tagliatelle. again I recommend this court. my wife had the flat iron steak and she loved it, and we ended the dinner with the pavlowa. chef dénis hernandez is a master in the kitchen. the service was exceptional. dyan took care of us and made my wife a cocktail for our jubilee. we liked this place so much, we went back to breakfast the next...

when they read susan M.s review below, my experience was exactly the same. I expect we were in the same area of the dining room. the server seemed very embarrassing from the situation. it wasn't her fault, and we made sure that she was around the ninety minutes was more than enough time for appies and dinner. the parlour inn has failed. in a city where so many participate in events with hard start times, it is not to ensure that customers are served in time, a fatal mistake.

After we had an excellent Caesar salad in the parlour inn restaurant in the summer, we decided to order 2 meal times (not appetizer) for the last week. the gentleman who took the order and took the payment was very friendly. However, the salads were shocking...we paid $49 for 2 salads, the size (and taste) of those they receive with cheap take-out pizza. they were very small portions, the salat was devastated and brown, there was no crumbling, and maybe 5 pieces of speck in each. $49! I came to the restaurant before I write this review, but don't get any answer. another disappointment.

There are many places to eat in Stratford, several with really remarkable food. The Parlour Inn restaurant does a good job and offers no reason to complain. But it's not really a destination. We ate there the evening we arrived and had breakfast every morning,...all for convenience sake. Otherwise we went elsewhere Stratford has a surprisingly (for Ontario farm country) lively food scene. Parlour Inn is pleasant, but not lively or surprising. The decor is subdued non kitschy Victorian, all very pleasant. Atmosphere is calm. The staff are delightful, and the food is well prepared, if not imaginative, mainstream. You won't likely be disappointed.
