"A family lover for decades. After living in the area for a large part of my life, I would return to my duties if I did not mention this picturesque Penn Hills restaurant. My family has enjoyed many meals from this facility since the 1970s. I, myself, was never in a better family home, small restaurant in this immediate area. When entering, the decor is Spartan to be safe... but it is extremely clean, well maintained, efficient and beautiful accented with photos and image printing. It is very the No-Frills what you see is what you get typical Italian restaurant. The business and reputation of the family is in the food, not in the ambience. The food is extremely fresh and well prepared. My pe...

A high school football game brought some friends BLT, LMF, JAS, and LRF and I together on a crunchy autumn evening; So we landed at Pasqualino 's Italian restaurant 13032 Frankstown Road, 15235. We came hungry and eager to visit each other, we tried a little of everything while we were in robust conversation, and we left filled, satisfied, and almost ready for the cool evening temperatures. Pasqualino 's is in the heart of Penn Hills*; this establishment radiates the heart in the form of its family and traditional menu and its red sauce. Like any Italian red sauce, Pasqualino's version is a personal experience, with a rich history dating back to 1954, when Maria Pasqualino the Pomodoro mixtu...

A Penn Hills Gem. I've been eating here for years. My family and my husband's family are all Italians, so we are picky about our Italian. Pasqualino's, or Pizza Palace, as it is known to locals, is great Italian cuisine. I didn't eat anything I didn't love here. Even the chicken fingers I got for my child were delicious and hand-baked. The crab cake medusa is delicious large, thick pieces of crab meat on homemade spinach linguine with a light Alfredo sauce. Their soups are also fantastic, like the homemade chocolate chip cookies. But the star of her show is her filled bowls. I have never eaten a better filled bowl in my life, not even my own homemade bowls are so good. The cheese is dense an...

I live about 30 minutes from Penn Hills and was in the area for a dance competition. My friend and I only had about an hour and wanted to go somewhere near, so we were on urban spoon for a restaurant near where we were. I'm so glad we made it! I am an Italian and an amazing cook myself and am extremely picky when it comes to an Italian restaurant. I'm also a former restaurant owner and I've been in business for years, so of course I'm a critic. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so impressed that I had to write one for this hidden gem I just discovered! The restaurant itself was nothing fun and would remind you of any local pizza shop. I must say it was very clean and well maintained....

"Wow, this is truly excellent food! Top 2 best restaurants in the area Penn Hills/Monroeville, maybe the best. If you are anywhere near it, come to Fun Asian Bistro! I was very pleasantly surprised with the prices, flavors, and portions. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls, a Philadelphia roll, and a Pittsburgh roll. My favorite roll is definitely the Pittsburgh roll. It is huge, heavy, and delicious! The sauce is somewhat sweet, but it complements the savoriness of the sushi perfectly. All the rolls were rolled expertly and came with 8 pieces. The Pittsburgh roll had a tasty, crispy breading. It is packed with deliciousness, and you can clearly taste the crab. It costs $11.50 here, but similar rolls cost about $16 elsewhere so it's a great deal! The Philadelphia roll was quite good as well. It had plenty of cream cheese, which tasted fresh. The avocado was extremely fresh as well, and it was cut uniformly! The salmon itself was amazing. Super tender, smoky, and all around delicious. Spring rolls were tasty and pretty cheap. You get 2 for $4. It's packed with vegetables and thin noodles. The outer shell is a bit thicker than the typical spring roll, but it's still crispy. The sauce has a good balance of spice and sweetness. Overall, I can't wait to return to the Fun Asian Bistro. The staff seemed friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable! Just be warned that the road to the restaurant has a few potholes (that's the only issue! Other than that, AMAZING and I will come back for more sushi and teriyaki!"
