"Came into the French Market on a recent trip out of the Ogilvie Transportation Center. I had gotten things from many of the vendors but not from here. JokeR 's is so called Cajun that makes you laugh. For sure it 's not that authentic. The stuff has to come in frozen because that 's how it tastes. A pretty small menu even for this, so there 's not that many choices. It of course has gumbo. There 's even one of these which is vegan. It 's $5 to get a pretty small bowl. This looked and tasted mostly like pepper. Bad enough to make you go crazy and get put into Arkham Asylum. Then later I was dancing down the stairs, but that 's because I was about to **** myself. Gumbo was at least hot. The only good thing about it. On a later visit I gave it another try and got something else. They have po boys, and a protein option was vegan sausage. It 's $7 for half a sandwich, and twice as much for a full. This was plenty. It was actually a pretty good value to be honest. Vegan sausage was hot and spicy. Liked this a lot more than gumbo. This is the best thing on the menu to be honest. Forget the gumbo. It has po boys that are much better, and you may ask why so serious? There 's even a few options for vegans and vegetarians."
