"I went there for drinks and some appetizer dishes on sat night.. we ordered mainly cooked dishes except the steak tartare and i kept vomitting on the next day.. i went to dr then they said based on my symptoms i got food poison. The only restaurant and raw dish i ordeded that night was from Baba. Therefore i would not want to come back or rec anyone to try their raw dishes. I never got food poisoning before. This was the worst feeling."

"Sunday brunch eating and service was excellent. recommend this place for the large selection of small plates on the menu. the main it area was bright, cheerful and alive. Unfortunately, this is not where we sit. we were the first group to sit in the empty cellar that was initially a little too calm. we plan to come back and hope that we will sit next time in the sunlight dining area."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Capitol Hill area. I go here every time I come to DC. The food is great. This time I came with family and we had 2 disabled people. I forgot to put that in the reservation my fault but they are noticeably disabled (canes and wheelchair). The first floor was pretty much empty but they still sat us in the upper area. Yes my mom and sister can use stairs with assistance, but when the other tables were empty the majority of our time there, it didn't make sense. Our waitress was sweet but more attentive to other tables as we were the table in the kitchen. Our appetizers came before our drinks. My drink was wrong. But at the end of the night, the food is always amazing which is why I would still come back again. But...a little sensitivity training reminder to how to seat customers is needed."

"I have ordered takeout from this restaurant twice now. You can place an order for pickup by calling or using Ubereats. They have a dedicated vegan menu section with items clearly marked as vegan or vegetarian. The portions were generous and the food was fresh. "Great place for Schnitzel! I've been on extended business a few times and came across another German cuisine location and stumbled across this restaurant later. Both serve traditional German dishes. I visited both twice during my trips to Alexandria, VA.For Schnitzel, Old House Cosmopolitan is my preference. Dinner was served hot, great portion size and tasty fried potatoes. Schnitzel breading was perfect and thickness of Schnitzel was my preference. I still would prefer a vegetable on the plate as well. I also ordered the house salad with vinaigrette and it does remind me of home. Dinner is served quickly so I was not able to finish it before main dish (both visits).Service was exceptional. Very customer oriented and very friendly. The dining room is small with about 9 tables for four and a small bar off to the side. Service and decor is upscale. I was very comfortable here and enjoyed my meal. I wish I had room and time to try the deserts."

"This one of our all time favorites! We will always return! The food is amazing, we usually get the mix grill for two, a bunch of different grilled meats on top of French fries, so good, and a good value. The atmosphere is nice, comfortable, and it's casual.
