"Workshop at Alacena Bistro and Market is a continental fine dining experience within an upscale Marina Market. My wife and I went for my birthday and had Chef Rafael Alamo’s seven (7) course tasting menu: he offers the choice of three (3), five (5) and 7 courses. The dinner included an amuse bouche of Iberico and Manchego Fritters followed by Yellowtail Yuzu Citrus Sashimi; Compressed Watermelon and Fruit Salad with His interpretation of Green Goddess Dressing; Vegan Roasted Tomato Soup with a Spinach and House-made Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli; House-made Pumpkin Gnocchi with Grilled Lobster bites in a lobster/seafood sauce, topped with shaved Bottarga; Mahi Mahi with thin sliced Potato, Grilled Petite Bok Choy and Green Onion; Grilled Filet of Tenderloin and Miataki Mushroom served atop au jus and a purée of a unique Puerto Rican Celery Root they called Apio; dessert was a Carmel Bread Pudding made with caramelized Ron del Barrilito Puerto Rican Rum. Each course was presented by Chef Rafael with a description of the ingredients and a personal story of his inspiration for the dish. The staff includes a creative mixologist behind the bar and a General Manager who is an experienced sommelier. For groups of six they offer wine pairings with the meal. In addition to being a fabulous tasting dinner the Chef’s Table tasting menu is a very unique experience."

"It was a nice gathering after many years of not visiting this restaurant, and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was great, but the only downside was the lack of staff. Although they were very friendly, they seemed to be overwhelmed and unable to keep up."

"Food is never consistent. Tostones were super salty and Pernil was dry. They brought the food and green sauce was spilled all over the bag. They buzzed wrong apartment and then they took the food back to restaurant. It was raining and when they broughtit back it was all wet and cold. They didn't even have the common sense to change the bag. Also delivery guy got mad cause hehad to come back and was alittle rude. I told him straight up to talk to shorty who answers the phone and that's not my problemhe had to come twice. He said he's all wet, I said it's water you're not gonna melt. This place is a hot mess. I wouldn'trecommend this place to anyone and won't ever eat there again.????"

"Mi Vida is a place I've been wanting to try for a while. I was not disappointed. The service was good, efficient without being obtrusive. The food was fantastic. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and was fantastic. I'm not sure what spice blend they use, but it's really good. We ordered enchiladas, I had the Suizas and my friend had the Molé. They were both really good. We also liked all the sides. We got the esquites, the colecitas (brussels sprouts), mixed citrus salad, and the charro bacon beans. They were all delicious! The desserts looked good, but we were too full to try them. Highly recommend this place!"

"Today, September 9th, 2022, we ordered two cachapas. We had to wait like 45 minutes, looking how other people arrived and got their food very fast. The worst part was that the cachapas were kind of warm, and they looked like reheated and dry. Very disappointing and very sad how a restaurant that used to serve very good food, went South. Nothing to do to what we were used to in this restaurant. Luckily we didn't invite anybody to taste Venezuelan food this time... that would have been very embarrassing. Waiters were kind but they do not keep track of what is going on with the food, and never show up again to see if we needed anything, so 0.00 points this time. I don't know why there is no supervision whatsoever on the kitchen. Today was our last time eating in."

"My friends and I stopped by this restaurant after getting dropped off in the Bronx and saw that they had great reviews on Google. I've never had mofongo so I was very curious to see how it was! I wasn't expecting the ambiance of the restaurant to be as fancy as it was. I was expecting a local, casual joint, but the prices and ambiance said otherwise. Seems like someplace to go to celebrate or have a night out. The service was slow but I am going to assume it's because there was an enormous party right next to us. The food also took a long time to come out, but the flavor made up for it. This was my first time trying mofongo and I loved it! We had it with ox tail stew and the stew was amazing. It was sooo flavorful and the ox literally fell off the bone. The actual mofongo (pounded plantains) also had pork pounded into it and everything blended like harmony. The mofongo on itself wasn't as great and a little bland but that's why the stew was there! I think I would've liked it less if I got a dry meat with it 9/10. I don't know when I'll be in the Bronx again but I would go again for this dish!"

"We had been eager to try this restaurant, and today we happened to be driving down the street when we decided to stop in. We arrived around 3:30 PM on a lovely Sunday, so it was no surprise that the place wasn’t crowded. However, Jefferson was incredibly attentive and friendly. If you’re expecting fast-food options like Taco Bell or Noches de Colombia, this isn’t the spot for you. This is a cozy establishment where the food is prepared fresh to order. We started with the guacamole, which was delicious and had just the right amount of spice, exactly how we like it. We also ordered three empanadas, and I especially enjoyed the vegetable one. My wife tried the chicken soup, which was also quite good. The prices were very reasonable. I’m looking forward to returning!"

"The ambiance was great. The food was very good except for the little rocks in my calamari ink rice. The desserts were great; especially the fudge pie and mango cheesecake did find an eggshell in it . The servers seem harried and a few items had to be requested twice. Had to request children's menu more than once. There were six of us; but didn't expect the automatic inclusion of the 22% ! gratuity in the bill. I like to decide the tip based on service received."
