"Only ordered from there, haven’t dined inside but it looks cute with mini diner-style booths! The chicken Caesar salad is the best I’ve had and trying it sparked off a Caesar (salad) obsession. Their fries- both normal and truffle- are beautiful. Reasonable prices, rather large portions. Great location for a bit of shopping too!"

"we were there thanksgiving. there were few empty tables, the staff was sufficient. the baby next to us. the service was above average, but we had the opportunity to wait for water, seasoned, gravitation. the prix fixed Thanksgiving dinner were visually unpublished (fragments of truthahn in a baptism, a crowded plate, overtaking brussels spruten. the desserts were unusually disappointing – the bundled cake a la fashion was heavy and had little chocolate flavor; the pumpkin mousse tar was heavy, the consistency of cream cheese, lumpy sweet. the high point was the filet mignon, perfectly grilled and quite delicate. our server was very accommodating, interspersed with other servers occasionally required as delivery. order what they do best: grill meat. c)"

"Food was undercooked, visibly pink and still cold. Manager’s response was the pink was from being smoked which didn’t make sense. It was obvious the food was undercooked. Would not return to this location. The manager also did not apologize for the situation. Waitress was great, very polite and helpful. First and last time going to this location. Spent over $100 on food that simply was not worth what was offered."

"945th different cheesesteak eaten in the last 4 years. This was a typical corner deli cheesesteak. It was $7.50 and it ate well. It needed more cheese and a better cheese melt. I would have liked for the mushrooms and onions to spend more time on the grill. I’m not running back to get this cheesesteak but at $7.50 I’m complaining when I get one."

"The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I asked for a box for left overs, the waitress said she would box it up in the kitchen, I ask her to be sure to put in the fat I had trimmed off so I could give it to my dog. When we got home all I had was the fat scraps. Didn't get the nice piece of steak I definitely wanted to keep. Next time will request the box and put our leftovers in ourselves."

"We are not from Houston so it was a little hard to find because we saw other restaurant names outside and the valet didn’t seem to understand us… HOWEVER, once inside, the hostess was very sweet and our server was as well… service was very slow but it was Beyoncé/Renaissance weekend so we understand. All of our food was good but we did think the cocktails were abnormally pricey for them to be so small. Overall, I’m glad my Houston friend recommended it to me. We love to support black owned businesses."

"The burger and fries should be a simple meal. The burger was very dry and it was salted a lot. Combined with the bacon on the burger it was inedible. The fries were soggy or too crunchy depending on the fry. I think the large grease spot under the basket was most concerning. Service was slow and there wasn't anybody there yet"

"My boss was so nice to take my coworkers and I to this beautiful, unique, Up Scale restaurant in downtown Chicago . We went here last Friday night right after work and it was amazing. We work at Allstate Joshua Mercer agency and my boss treated us to dinner. Some of our Foods were , roast beef , steaks , lobster fried rice, oysters, and some delicious appetizer side dishes. However, I ate the lobster and shrimp rolls and the shrimp fried rice. I like how the shrimp fried rice was loaded with shrimp and fresh vegetables in the rice. and was very good. The Shrimp and lobster rolls had a mild but sweet dipping sauce that was a 10 and was so good , even good in my shrimp fried rice. I loved the intimate decor and the lights in this place. This place had amazing food,, service, views and scenery. The atmosphere was entertaining and creative. This was my first time inside of this restaurant, but I highly recommend this place . Rather you're local or visiting Chicago, this is definitely a go to place . I recommend you Bring about $400 to $500 for a date for two, but For a night out with a small group of friends bring atleast $900 to $2000 .Kid-friendliness: They had some kid friendly food like California rolls. ."

"The coffee was amazing. The food we ordered was just ok. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. Some of the menu items on here weren’t on their current menu, which disappointed us, as we really wanted to try one of them. We will definitely come back for coffee, and perhaps the breakfast is better, so we would consider trying that. All of the staff was amazing and very friendly. They were great with our kids. The monetary value for the quantity and quality was right on par and fair."

"Everything about this place is great!! Had the brisket and pork ribs which were both some of the tastiest ? I 've had in a while. The place feels very homey and it probably has to do with the trophies that were donated by a long time customer because his wife made him deconstruct his man cave ??? and the pretty stained glass windows. Sides were all so tasty sounding it was hard to choose but I settled on the cream corn and baked potato casserole both again???. Have had other more expensive big name BBQ places that didn 't come close to this flavor. Definitely a hidden gem. The staff was all so friendly and welcoming I 'll definitely be making this my regular Dallas area BBQ joint whenever I come to town."

No flavor other than the juice from the can of Glory Greens.4. The curry goat was introduced to just enough heat to ensure it was no longer raw; however I chewed on pieces of this curry goat for ten minutes and it would not GIVE. I tried several other pieces of my curry goat and many pieces could not be penetrated with my very sharp human teeth.5. There were only two tables to dine in and virtually no other place to consume your meal.6. I would not recommend The Soul Spot to anyone looking for Jamaican food or Soul food unless you enjoy Glory Greens from a can and curry goat chewing meat that could use no less than 7.5 additional hours of simmering.7. Additionally, I would recommend signs at each display sharing what the sides are; what the proteins are. Some of your items are not readily recognizable."

"We had a reservation on a Saturday evening. For most of the time we were dining, we were the only customers. I’m sure this was influenced by the current Coronavirus panic, but suspect it was also because word has gotten around about a drop off in the dining experience here. There were of us. Two of us got steaks. It appears they were cooked with the sous vide method which results in a very bland taste. Mine was also slightly undercooked. A companion got the traditional pork chop and thought it was good. They have eliminated the traditional “relish tray” which was greatly missed by our party. Service was excellent — but then again our server only had one table to take care of"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time with my girlfriend. Baby back ribs are one of my favorite foods, and the ones here are incredible! The BBQ sauce options are excellent, with choices for those who enjoy spicy flavors and others who prefer something sweeter and tangier. The ribs had a perfect balance of tenderness and firmness, not falling off the bone. They had a jerky-like texture but tasted seriously amazing! The macaroni and cheese and loaded tater tots appetizer were also delicious. I will definitely return to this restaurant."
