"Genuinely the worst shabu experience I’ve ever had. Make no mistake, this isn’t on the staff or the service — they were great and attentive. I feel bad that they have to work at a place like this. The selection was horrible, limited, and so so not worth the price at all. There are like a dozen better shabu places in Mira Mesa alone. It’s just bad and overpriced; for what you’re paying, you get basically nothing. Soup tasted super bland; both of the ones we ordered were basically like drinking boiled water with a dash of salt. The vegetables offered were so strange — how does chive ENDS count as a vegetable? Also none of the traditional veggies you’d find in a shabu spot. No other meat options available other than the 6 ones on the menu, which is really really strange and so not worth it."
