"We were asked if there were certain allergies before we ordered. My spouse mentioned I needed to have gluten free items. We ordered our appetizers, which were fine edamame shrimp . We went to order our main dishes. There are ZERO main dishes listed as gluten free on the menu. The only TWO items that were gluten free are edamame and Korean bravas good items . However, at most sushi restaurants I have been to, the rolls can be accommodated to GF very easily. I picked a roll that actually looked like it would be gluten free as it had nothing listed in the ingredients that made it sound like there was gluten in it. The server stated that there was a sauce *on top* of the roll. I asked if it could be left off. He said no, that no dishes could be altered or adjusted. !!!!! I was beyond livid. You mean to tell me that you as a restaurant will not make ANY accommodations for people who have legitimate allergies by doing something so simple as leaving a *sauce* off the TOP of a an item??!!! And then to boot, my spouse ordered a veggie roll and the server decided to replace that with a tuna roll of some sort that was “gluten free” made with raw fish which I don’t eat without even asking if this would be a substitute that would be amenable to our dining experience. Our server never once asked how things were and seemed to actively avoid our table. Needless to say, I will NEVER dine here again, and I will say that if you have any food allergies at all, to avoid this place as they are extremely unaccommodating to these needs. I had zero protein options for my dining experience. None. I ate veggies for dinner when I had fasted all day and still managed to spend over $100 at this restaurant my spouse has no dietary restrictions, no alcohol was purchased during this dinner . I am *very* displeased with this restaurant’s willingness to even slightly alter a dish to accommodate an allergy."

"LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sushi Jo!!!! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years! We come so often, in fact, that we now know all of the servers, and they know us, personally. It's like having a home away from home! Not only do they have the BEST sushi in Boynton Beach, hands down!!!! It's ALWAYS fresh, ALWAYS amazing, and now, we don't really even need to order! We simply sit at our usual table outside and any one of the servers we know and love will promptly come out and ask us if we want our usual (which is almost always edamame with salt on, large sake, eel avocado roll and sometimes if we're hungry enough we add another hamachi avocado roll . Unfortunately, for me, I am highly allergic to shellfish, so I cannot have many of the rolls offered on the menu. I do know from close friends who also frequent Sushi Jo that any of the other amazing rolls on their menu are AWESOME! The only drawback of Sushi Jo is how small the inside of the restaurant is. This is why no matter what time of year, my boyfriend and I will sit outside and brave the humidity. After all, once we've shared 2 sakes and added the heat of lots of Wasabi the humidity doesn't seem to matter much anymore ?! As long as Sushi Jo is there we will ALWAYS be patrons! If you haven't tried Sushi Jo in Boynton Beach (they have other locations, I know of one on Belvedere Rd in West Palm Beach but have never gone in. I actually pass it on my way home from work you are thoroughly missing out! I have been to multiple different sushi restaurants in the Boynton Beach area and NONE, not a single one compares to the quality and price of Sushi Jo! When we add in the warmth of the servers who know us and take care of us like we're the only people in the restaurant (and I promise you that we're not! There's simply no reason I can find to EVER go anywhere else for awesome sushi (unless I want to drive 30 minutes to Boca! Thank you so much, everyone at Sushi Jo! We love you so much! We'll keep coming back as long as you keep your doors open and your sushi AWESOME!!!! ? Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options! Be advised to read the menu as they aren't marked, the last time I checked. But, if you want something done special then simply ask if the sushi chefs can make it for you Dietary restrictions: ALWAYS MENTION SERIOUS FOOD ALLERGIES TO YOUR SERVERS!!! I am deathly allergic to shellfish and carry 2 epi-pens. They don't always work ENOUGH and I learned this the hard way. Don't let it happen to you, PLEASE! Parking: Parking lot can fill up during events and holidays. Be aware. There is a garage across the street in the residential building but you must pay for parking there and they fill up with beach goers."

"I went by here on a Monday to make a reservation for 5 people for a bday celebration for the following Thursday. I specifically requested a certain table(better view of the water/more room) and asked for a 7:00pm reservation. They had two managers on duty...at the front both looking at that day and said they couldn't do 7:00 but they could do 7:30 for that table. I got a reminder call for my reservation on the Wednesday to confirm my reservation where at that time I confirmed that I had the same table requested and they said yes. On Thursday at 4:30 I dropped of a small balloon bouquet asking to please have them at that table for when we would be arriving in 3 hours. Again I was told no problem. We get there for 7:30 only to find my table was taken and the people there were in no rush to be leaving. I asked to speak to a manager and he said you'll have to take another table and offered me a table for four and could slide another chair in. I wanted an answer as to why they felt it was okay to give the table that was requested and said would be reserved for me, only to be given away? He simply said sorry without even an explanation, in addition the absence of my balloons and their whereabouts . I was in the service industry for over 10 years and have also been a manager, so I was baffled at the lack of professionalism as this was happening. In my past experience if someone wanted to sit at a certain table but it had an upcoming reservation we would let the group know they needed to be done by that time. We decided to wait to eat as I insisted we get moved asap to the table I reserved. We were moved almost an hour later. By the time we ordered and got our food the restaurant was emptying out they were tearing down the patio tables right in front of us and getting ready to close while we ate our dinner in the dark and had to ask for a candle. Worst experience ever and the worst management I've ever come across. Food was over priced and mediocre at best however our server was lovely but clearly embarrassed by the lack of leadership by her manager. I wish I read more reviews because I now see a lot about poor management. I called the next day to speak to a GM only to find out it was the same person that felt it was okay to give my table away. I never write reviews since I generally realize things can happen but again I had multiple communication with managers and staff setting this up and they clearing dropped the ball and pretty much ruined our dining experience. Don't waste your time as there are much better places in the area."
