"the new old woman hostess is horrible at her job. it was busy tonight which i completely understand but my family and i have been coming here for YEARS. im a young girl, i got there before my dad i asked her for a table for 3. she said “well do you have a reservation?” and then proceeded to roll her eyes and shrug her shoulders when i told her no. 5 plus years i’ve never made a reservation also being that im willing to wait. kathy the owner came out and the old woman proceeded to point to the people behind me and skip me and ignore me and kathy was like wait what about her? meaning me. then it got so much more packed so many more people came the old woman had went and hid in the back on purpose. when she came back out finally after 20 minutes, i asked her if there was a list or something because again i was willing to wait. she SCREAMS and says “I HAVE TO HELP RESERVATIONS FIRST” like learn to talk to PAYING customers. then my father gets there, she realizes hes friends with the owner she made up a lie that the WHOLE time she thought the owner was helping me because she knows she was useless and horrible towards me. the customers behind me noticed what was going on and asked me if i was okay because she was just that awful. that woman should not have a job there, and im not even mad about it being too busy or having to wait, thats understandable. i’m mad that she has 0 class and treats customers so terribly. We ended up walking out because of how poorly she treated the guests."

"My husband and I have birthdays two days apart so we decided to have an early dinner at Pearl East in Manhasset, NY. Unfortunately, the hostess at the front desk (who I’ve never seen before) was rude and insisted on seating us at a small table when I asked if we could be seated at a larger table. Our plates were hanging over the edge of the table. This is the first time we were denied a larger table and there were only four other people dining in the restaurant. Shortly after we were seated, two women came in and asked for a larger table; and yes, they were accommodated. Our Server was attentive but the hostess’s lack of professionalism put a damper on our meal."

The hostess who had a different name that escapes me now was so gracious and thoughtful. Hubby had the pork chops and they made my chef husband jealous that he didn’t prepare them himself. "Started with oysters on the halfshell. I could have eat a dozen more, but I wanted to save room for desert. Moved on to my favorite, eggplant orleans, it never disapoints. The desert of the day was sweet potatoes cobbler. My grandmother used to make one and I have never heard of anybody else making one. It was not like my grandmothers, but it did not disappoint On top of great food we also had great service."

"The night that we went for dinner, we did not think to get reservations. but we went early enough to get seated without any hesitation. The food was really, really good. I had the Chowder which was very filling, and we shared the order of Smoked Salmon Crostini. My husband had the Redfish. My meal was selected from the Happy Hour specials. The restaurant was an exceptionally easy walk from our hotel...it was just warming up a little from a cold, windy, and rainy snap of December's weather."

"We were there on Valentine's Day. We arrived for a reservation and were told that it would be minutes more because the people at our table were just finishing up. We waited at the bar for minutes and I went back to check. A different hostess told me that it would be minutes more because the people at our table were just finishing up. After another minutes, we gave up and ate at the bar During all of this, I called up Open Table and saw that Sawa was still taking reservations minutes in advance. Clearly, they just overbook and try to wing it as it comes The sushi was good and the bartender was friendly"

"Coming here was totally by chance. My wife had a doctor's appointment and we were looking for something we'd both like that would be in the area. From their schedule, I saw they had just opened for the day, and as we walked in, the host was already taking takeout orders at that point, even interrupting when we got our order taken. We sat, picked our food and enjoyed every single bite. The price was right, the portions were right, the sushi was fresh and the miso was perfectly balanced. I would honestly make the 45 min drive to go there again."

"Kami Sushi Five star lunch deals! I was truly impressed by the quality and quantity of their sushi lunch special recently. I ordered delivery (see photo):Three roll lunch special included soup and salad. The sushi rolls were so fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed the fresh Yellowtail Scallion Roll, so good. I like that they included soup and salad didn't have to choose between them. Definitely recommend Kami's lunch specials.
