"This was our first visit to Repeal. We have eaten at LeMoo, Jeff Ruby's and Ruth Chris in Louisville as well. We would rate Repeal just behind LeMoo, ahead of RC and way ahead of JR's. The food as just as good as LeMoo, but LeMoo wins out slightly in ambiance. It was loud in Repeal. So loud that we had to speak loudly ourselves just to hear across the table. Not like Ruby's where you have to scream to the person beside you though. We enjoyed Repeal a lot and will be back. The location is excellent when staying on Whiskey Row."

"I have never been treated quite as rudely as I was the night that seven friends and I went here for dinner. We were treated as if we were second class by the server and management. We left after a drink and looking over the menu. I have eaten in some fine restaurants, many in NYC, that were finer than this one. However, they were as they say in the south ;uppity ;, myself I considered their attitude pompous and self important. You want RUDE and impolite... then by all means go here for a meal. Take your friends so that they can experience it too. It was charming to be treated as if you were sitting below the salt. Everyone should have this feeling in a place they intended to spend an evening with friends. DONT MISS IT."

"Amazing!! Didn’t get pics of everything but everything was great! The raw oysters were big and tasty, the shrimp and crab bienville oysters were also big and delicious. The taste of Trenasse entree was EVERYTHING! It was a little bit of everything on the plate and it was all good and seasoned well. Then, the bread pudding *french kiss* I loved it all. Ambience was beautiful! Will definitely be back!"

"The best meal I have had in Charleston (including Husk). The dining room is dominated by wood finishes including exposed ceiling beams and large posts. The lighting is on the darker side but the table itself has more than adequate light to see each other and our food. Very attentive service by our server and all the assistants. If we wanted something different or extra, it was not hard to get that. And her recommendations were right on spot. The food was delicious the essence of southern. The fried chicken was crispy, but not oily, and the meat was tender and juicy. Great sides as well. I will return."

I waited about an hour for two pasta dishes to come out and although appetites were impatient after that long, it was worth the wait. "First time in this town and looked for a place with Southern style cooking. Examined the menu beforehand and picked out my choices. All went out the window when I walked in and saw a gorgeous whole Prime Rib on display. I was told that it was $22.95 for all you could eat Prime Rib. Wow! The salad bar could have had more choices, but with all that Prime Rib who cares....."

"The best lobster bisque I have ever had! It had been years since my last visit to this restaurant, but my friend Kathy and I decided to have dinner here before a show at the Venice Theater. Our server, Alisha, took great care of us and the owner made sure we were well taken care of. We both started with the lobster bisque, Kathy ordered a cup and I got a bowl. The soup was divine, unlike any other I had tried before. It was off-white in color, resembling a mushroom soup, but the taste was heavenly. Kathy had the grouper with white wine sauce over rice, which was delicious. I opted for the pasta with shrimp, but the pasta was slightly undercooked although the shrimp were tasty. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I am sure we will be back soon. Highly recommend!"
