"We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at The Phoenix in the President's Room in January 2023. Entering the front doors you will walk up a beautiful marble staircase and note authentic Tiffany glass windows. The ambiance in the President's Room with its 20-foot ceilings is elegant, resembling a different era decades ago. Although we only had about 28 attendees with 4 large tables, many more tables could easily be set without any crowding. With our event being in January, the fireplace was lit, providing a beautiful backdrop to the room. They provided a TV for us to show a looping slideshow of the bride and groom. Connected to the President's Room is a spacious bar, where appetizers were displayed during the cocktail hour and desserts served after dinner. Large paintings adorn the walls in both rooms, and bookcases frame the wall across from the fireplace. With the President's Room located on the corner of the building, large windows on two walls provide a view of the city streets below as well as some natural lighting. The room is old glamour and elegant.Lilly, the Assistant General Manager, exceeded our expectations in every way. Throughout the entire planning process and the evening of the event, Lilly provided exceptional service. Every email and phone call was returned in a timely manner. She offered many ideas and suggestions that we incorporated in our evening. The flexibility offered to us in choosing the menu gave us many options that most venues wouldn't allow without significant upcharges. Lilly was extremely flexible with not only the menu, but with every option provided to us related to the number of hours we could use the room, how long to keep the bar open, and whether to utilize the side entrance. There wasn't one decision to be made that Lilly didn't offer options and flexibility! The evening/dinner was perfect in every aspect. The service was incredible and Lilly was present throughout to ensure things ran smoothly. The food was delicious... we chose a dinner buffet with braised beef short ribs and grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was very good but the braised beef short ribs were incredible! The Phoenix Salad was especially delicious with many guests complimenting it. We had some guests with dietary restrictions, including severe food allergies. Lilly was very meticulous to make sure all guests were well taken care of. We brought in our own desserts including a groom's cake. Again the flexibility to do so was appreciated. All the food was delicious, and many guests told us how much they enjoyed the dinner and the venue. The whole experience was incredible from beginning to end, largely due to the professionalism and service provided by Lilly. With the wedding reception at the Cincinnati Art Museum the next day, The Phoenix provided a very complementary experience for our rehearsal dinner. We had looked at many venues prior to choosing The Phoenix. Nothing compared to what The Phoenix offered in terms of service, professionalism, food and ambiance. Thanks Lilly!"

"HIDDEN GEM IN GAHANNA!!!!! I have been on a hunt to find the BEST, most authentic, plenty of variety, reasonably priced bubble tea and it hit the jackpot!!!!! Pochi Cafe, 921 E. Johnstown Road, Columbus, Ohio 43230 Pochi Cafe. Is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! It is right off Hamilton past Morse Road on the left in a plaza with an OSU medical building, Dog Spaw, and Mr. Wok directly across from a free standing CVS. Besides offering the traditional boba tea in a variety of milk versions, they offer it in many tea versions too. Moreover, besides the boba bubbles, they also offer popping bubbles that are delicious and so fun! They are filled with your choice of liquid so they literally burst in your mouth. A large (Very large bubble tea in any variety is only $5.00 while they have a medium version (still plenty for $3.50. Beyond bubble tea (which quite frankly could be their only thing it 's SOOOOOO TASTY AND AWESOME they carry all kinds of smoothies and an entire wall of coffee selections and yummy varieties. I 'd say there are at least 20 choices of all kinds of coffee mixtures most notably to me, the Almond Joy....YUM!!!! So whatever your favourite beverage splurges are, they have you covered. I haven 't even began to discuss the food. Omg, the food. They have deli salads that will blow your mind. The broccoli salad has broccoli of course lol, sunflower seeds, raisins, red onions amd a slaw sauce you 'll want to lick up. After my meal (a combo comes with a deli side or side salad and a drink I had to go buy a pound of it to take home it was that good!!! I had the Reuben which they sliced the meat right there and had the most amazing slaw on it and melted cheese. It came open faced and wasn 't that aesthetically pleasing yet the taste, IT IS A LEGEND. They have a pizza oven type thing they put it through so the bread was so toasty and cheese was so melty....a true indulgence at its finest. I went back the next day, it is that good lol, and ordered the meatball stromboli t"

"FANTASTIC! We went to this restaurant because of a 2020 magazine in a Dr's office. They are known for their Reubens, and I can see why .... AMAZING! The reuben comes in 2 sizes with homemade russian dressing. The corn beef is made in-house I love the spices). The service is great. They have plenty of suggestions. There are pickle barrels in the dining room that you can get as many pickles as your heart desires. We had macaroni salad and cole slaw loved them both). The coleslaw is creamy and not sweet. Macaroni salad has great flavor and is not overly dressed. Next, they brought out the cheese blintz crepe style filled with a creamy white sweet cheese filling). It comes with sour cream or preserves, we had both. When u eat it with the sour cream it makes it have a grilled cheese flavor and with the apricot preserves it tastes like a sweet treat. The noodle kugel was especially interesting noodles layered with cheese and a middle layer of cherries, then cinnamon on top. I am so glad I got to try it more like a dessert). Strangest thing but great taste. The potato knish had Carmelized onions and mashed potatoes wrapped by pastry like a croissant. Had the flavor of a Perogi. Next the potato latke had a good flavor, but was a little different in texture than I am used to very dense tight patty) homemade chicken broth with a matzo ball giant doughy airy dumplin) had really good flavor. For dessert we ended up getting carrot cake. This cake is full of walnuts and carrots, has a good spice and cream cheese icing. Definitely give them a chance. Huge menu and plenty to try as you can tell. Also they sell their amazing breads meats and honey and lots more. Enjoy floks!"
