"Sajj used to be a new addition to the city's dining scene, but it has quickly become a staple. When I recently returned to work, I had to make sure to stop by Sajj. The restaurant follows the Chipotle model where you choose your base (salad or rice) and protein (falafel for vegetarians), and top it off with various toppings like eggplant, cauliflower, chickpeas, pickles, garlic hummus, and Baba ganoush. The menu can be overwhelming with so many options, which is why Sajj recently introduced a new vegan dish that has been well-received. Each dish comes with a side of lentil soup. Sajj has two locations, one in the Financial District (FIDI) and another in SOMA at 2. With many restaurants still closed due to the pandemic, it was a pleasant surprise to find that Sajj was open and serving up their delicious food."
