"This restaurant is conveniently located, and I have taken my family and friends here several times to eat. The service can be slow due to being understaffed, like most restaurants. However, my recent experience was terrible. The alcohol menu does not include prices, and neither do the waitstaff. I ordered a medium margarita and was surprised to see that I was charged $19 instead of the expected $13. When I asked the waitress about the price, she was unkind and rude, claiming it wasn't her job to inform customers of prices. The manager also did not care about my confusion and confirmed that they do not use top-shelf tequila. Despite having had many margaritas in the past, I have never paid such a high price for a medium-sized one. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"La Villita Cantina is finally reopened on Franklin! The new location is right in between Birds and Sushi Stop. Our little corner is bustling once again! We came for opening as we were thrilled to have a Mexican spot open up. We ordered a guava margarita, and two blackberry margaritas. All were excellent, but I’d say the guava was the best, it’s rare to get that flavor in a standard cantina. To start, we ordered the smoked shredded chicken nachos. Then we ordered a variety of tacos. There were so many great flavors to choose from, but we decided on: Korean Popcorn Chicken, Chicken Shawarma, Quesabirria, fried shrimp, grilled wahoo, and jerk filet mignon. We were stunned at how delicious every single item we got was. I couldn’t believe they nailed such a vast menu, but everything was something I’d easily return for. AND the tacos are big portions at six inches long, so I’d recommend roughly two per person. I will be dreaming about these tacos until I come back. The whole staff was so friendly and excited to be open again. I can’t wait for our next night out here so thrilled this place is back on the block!"

"Orders were delayed, wrong, cold and sent out with ingredients to which one of us were allergic (we told the server). Service was careless. Management was the same. Understaffed and awful service was made worse. Every order had a mistake, every other table experienced the same thing! Staff knows there's a problem and says management doesn't care. Gave me 10% off my bill but I didn't want money off the bill, we just wanted an easy meal."

"I went here for Trap and Paint this past Sunday (2/20). The event was nice but I’m not sure I will go back to this venue. The event was only 2 hours, but I hadTo stand in line literally 25 minutes to get a drink. Only bout three people ahead of me. They told me they only had house stuff for the drinks, I don’t do cheap distilled liquor mixes lol so that would be a no....I asked for a double shot of 1800 and the cashier told me$17....gtfoh. I didn’t buy that. I ended up getting my house liquor blue motorcycle and went about my business. I didn’t enjoy it tho. I only got it cuz I wasted so much time in line, I wanted a drink smh. You’re better off gettin drunk right before the trap n paint lollllAlso idk the bartenders name but she was kinda stank, letting ppl stand near the bar waiting for her to engage us, and not letting us know that we had to get in line. Jus walking past us like we didn’t exist.If they have Trap and Paint somewhere else I’ll go again but this place was kinda trash for overcharging and wastin all that time."

I've been coming here for birthdays for several years. I've never seen such a glorious dining ambiance. Lovely plants, high ceiling, upstairs I have yet to see. But it looks fabulous. "I visit this restaurant regularly, at least once a month, because it offers the best Mexican food in Salem. The only critique I have is that during my last visit, the silverware was dirty. As a germaphobe, I found the knife to be especially dirty, so I can't overlook that. However, this was the only time I have noticed this issue. Overall, I would rate the food and service a 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 4 out of 5."

"This was a fun restaurant to try for a dinner with friends. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the wide variety on the menu. It was a little loud in there but there were also quite a few younger people there from a conference, so they might have added more to the noise level. Note when looking for parking do not park in the Sundance Square lots because this is outside of the area and they do not validate (per the lot attendent). Luckily the parking lot attendant was nice and let us out without charging for parking."

"This was our first time here. It was a little busy during lunch but not so where it took 10 minute before getting a hostess to come seat us. Nevertheless we was seated and our waiter was prompt to come get our drink orders. He seemed rushed the whole visit and I wasn 't able to ask him several questions because of his steady disappearing act. Who knew I was going to get lunch and a magic show!! I had a mango margarita and it was so yummy and refreshing. I 'm not much of a drinker but I 'm glad I had it there for what came later... I asked when he took our food order if he could bring out some warm corn tortillas and butter (like I get at any Mexican restaurant) and he flat out told me they didn 't do that.. umm ok?!? Our food arrives and on my 2nd bite of the taco the shredded lettuce gets stuck in my throat and I can 't swallow. I 'm choking. Not one person other than my husband came to assist me as I ran outside to fix myself and grateful I didn 't die in front of everyone. I came back inside and I 'm shaking and hence the part where I 'm glad I had a margarita there to calm my nerves. I picked at a cheese enchilada and ended up taking my food home in a box. I mean who could eat after that. My husband loved his lunch and mine as he ate it for dinner last night lol, I still wasn 't able to eat out of fear. The only thing he said he didn 't like was the taco as it wasn 't as good as another business in Denham Springs. I get it! The little few bites I was able to enjoy was really delicious and I might try them again someday."

"A Meal Soured: While I delivered for a third party service, I came across Mazatlan. The manager I've been talking about difficulties that come with these services. He said that someone gave them a terrible review for technical issues w/the app. I assured him I was back, I was back for three years and brought my mother from Texas, new friends I met, my partner now. This evening, my partner, whom I dressed for another dinner, went as well as usual until we ordered Dessert, which we normally did not do that she hangs a hair out of the spoon. We both notify the server. She's about 5 minutes away, bringing the tab. No, I'm so sorry, I'm gonna have the manager right away. Nothing. We have to pay the same manager. I'll ask him if he's aware of his hair. He said yes, that's why the charges were removed. I asked why he didn't come by talking about it. He said well that I was busy all the time. Then he said he could pick up a price. I let him know how I'm just there to support him the local business, it's very regrettable that customer service has dropped so much. Then he continued to calculate the full amount for the rest of the meal... Lol! The food whole experience was only up to max. We won't be back."
