"During our last visit yesterday, I ordered a combination of NY steak and coconut shrimp with potatoes and sautéed spinach. It was just okay—not enough to impress. There were three of us, and we decided to try the dessert sampler featuring a brownie, a so-called miraculous sundae, and a red velvet cupcake. Unfortunately, it was all terrible! The "miraculous sundae" consisted of a ball of vanilla ice cream in an oversized bowl with a teaspoon of caramel at the bottom and a teaspoon of fudge on the plate—it was quite odd. The brownies were crumbly and overwhelmed with whipped cream. The red velvet cupcake was dry, overly crisp, and had a rock-hard top. The frosting looked questionable, like spoiled milk, which my server suggested had been left at room temperature for too long. I couldn't even bring myself to take a bite of that mess.
The General Store Manager, Bill, seemed visibly frustrated and embarrassed when I shared my experience, especially as I pointed out the dessert plate in front of other customers. This visit would technically be free because I wanted to use a menu that Bill had given me back in January 2010 when my dish arrived with a hair on it. Perhaps it’s just me, but it feels like this restaurant has cursed my dining experiences. I'm done with this place and will never return. I’ll pass the menu along to someone else and keep my thoughts to myself from now on."
