"Girlfriend and I are new to the area and were looking for a nicer establishment to celebrate our 3-year anniversary. We heard good things about the food and were aware that things were a bit more pricey heading in. We started with wine for the miss and whiskey for myself. Our waiter spent 2-3 minutes looking at our ID’s, and then came back several minutes later to re-examine our ID’s. We are both 26 and, even if we were underage and trying to purchase alcohol illegally, I can assure you I wouldn’t be ordering a $16 glass of whiskey from a seafood restaurant with a fake ID. Anyway, we got our drinks and the fried calamari for our appetizer. Drinks and calamari were both good. Miss ordered the jumbo shrimp scampi style, and our waiter had to open the link on the digital menu to see what it came with; he was clearly new to the establishment, which is fine. I ordered the blue plate special, which had scallops, shrimp, stuffed flounder, and crab cake. I had clam chowder as my starter which was arguably the best chowder I have ever tasted. Highlight of the night for sure. Our entrees were pretty good. The shrimp were pretty overcooked and the stuffed founder was so so. The crab cake was good but the mustard sauce was eh. Scallops were my favorite item from the entree. Overall, food was good but not great, especially considering the high prices (we spent $140 with tip for our two entrees, an appetizer, and three drinks). Service was eh, and the questioning of our ID’s and not knowing the menu both threw off our experience for sure. Potentially would come back for a birthday when prices are half off, but other than the incredible clam chowder, I don’t know if anything else I had would make me want to return."
