"My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our summer dinner at Dukes on the water in Lake Union. We previewed the menu ahead of time and checked out the specials. I got the blackberry Margarita, delish!, and we shared the crab dip, with some awesome sourdough bread and butter. Our friends ordered the battered and fried up calamari steaks with a couple dips. Almost everyone at the table got a salad main dish, the unchopped seafood salad, lots of scallops and prawns with light dressing, I got the wild greens salad, apples, candied pecans, tarragon dressing, a bit too much and a bit too sweet for me, and my spouse got the classic wedge with blue cheese, bacon bits and blackberries over the plate. They were all flavorful, light and refreshing. We also ordered the Puff and Stuff Prawns with crab, cheese and a touch of pesto in blanc beurre. This was a rich splurge dish, and they were kind enough to split the dish for sharing as we had just a little room for more food. We usually order a dessert and share but we were all too stuffed for that. They looked delicious. There was only one slight issue for us. We asked for an outside table to best view the water. I asked first if it had shade as we are all sun sensitive. She said yes . At first when we sat down we were shaded but very soon the sun moved and it became way too hot for us. A few of us were sweating and turning red. It was a very hot day for Seattle and we would have been more comfortable inside. No matter, we had a very great time, great food and drinks. Our waiter Carlos was excellent. We will be back."

"I love Santa Barbara and getting seafood from there. My mom was looking for a restaurant that served scallops and the closest one with good reviews was this one.Atmosphere: the restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Well designed with a good color balance. The one thing I didn't love was feeling like the servers were right behind me worth them having their conversations. Otherwise it was a good placement (adjacent to the pier and nice looking.Service: The staff seemed nice. We were seated quickly. The server introduced himself initially. It took another server to ask of we needed bread and it felt a little like a shuffle since a different server brought out the food. It took awhile for the server to return to thr table so we sat for awhile after finishing our food before we were able to find him again to box our food and get the check. We had to ask for a bag for our two boxes instead of them offering. I also felt like this was medium price but it would help if the servers helped to put the food into the boxes instead of making the patrons do it themselves. It would make it seem more like a higher end restaurant.Food: (1st I know Fiesta Fest was last week but I found a piece of confetti on my bread plate. It's just not a good look. Also the look of my dish when it got to me was a little messy. The pasta that we had was good but not great. The sauce felt like it needed a bit more of a bold flavor and a bit thicker (it had a bit of a watery pesto taste and didn't taste like it utilized the umami taste that the mushrooms could have given it. The shrimp were great and the pasta was perfect texture. (I always wish that shrimp in pasta dishes didn't require me to work and use my hands to take thr tail off but that's not specifically just this restaurant .Overall, it was a good experience but there were just a few things that kept it from feeling like a great experience."
