"One of the best places to eat in the city! The first time I didn't expect much, but I was really surprised how authentic and good their food is! I am Egyptian myself and it was almost impossible to find authentic, tasty Egyptian food in Portland until I tried AlMasry. The food is delicious with the right amount of spices, the portions are generous and the prices are very affordable. I tried her gyros, Saj and plates and I love especially the lamb beef Saj and her falafel! They make them perfect by using fava beans in the falafel instead of chickpeas; this is the exact and only way this delicious falafel is made in Egypt! I ran into the owner a few times and he is very friendly and beautiful with a great ability to delicious authentic Egyptian and Middle Eastern recipes! I strongly recommend that you try this locally owned food truck! I went once and went every week or two of them. It is a truly hidden gem right in downtown Portland; and I hope that its expansion into more food carts or larger restaurants in the future."
