"One of the best places to eat in the city! The first time I didn't expect much, but I was really surprised how authentic and good their food is! I am Egyptian myself and it was almost impossible to find authentic, tasty Egyptian food in Portland until I tried AlMasry. The food is delicious with the right amount of spices, the portions are generous and the prices are very affordable. I tried her gyros, Saj and plates and I love especially the lamb beef Saj and her falafel! They make them perfect by using fava beans in the falafel instead of chickpeas; this is the exact and only way this delicious falafel is made in Egypt! Greetings before we started! The chicken gyro, Steak Philly and chicken philly were amazing! They even had a shaded area for us to sit and eat. Definitely the next time I'm in Portland.

So happy, El Masry tried! Best Egyptian food in Portland! We had lamb gyros and they were delicious soft pita bread, a generous part of well seasoned meat, delicious tzatziki sauce with fresh vegetables. You even have great homemade hot sauce if you like to season it a bit! The owner Gharib is the nicest guy and was very sweet to my 3 year old daughter who loves Egypt. It can sometimes be a little picky, but enjoyed the lamb and rice he made for them together with some beautifully cooked french fryers. You feel like a family there and we enjoyed chatting with Gharib, listening to his wife and children and enjoying great food. Would definitely recommend!
