"Our wives ordered a dish with mixed vegetables. They both enjoyed the sweet components but struggled to eat much of the pork because it was extremely peppery. I enjoy spicy food, but even I found the meat excessively hot. It seems unnecessary to use so much pepper in a pork dish without any warning on the menu.
The restaurant, now called 'LP on Main,' used to be 'Louisiana Purchase,' which was our favorite spot in Banner Elk for many years. It had the food and atmosphere we loved, especially for excellent Cajun/Creole cuisine. Sadly, the new LP on Main doesn't offer any Cajun/Creole dishes, which is quite disappointing. I fear we've made our last visit to this revamped restaurant, which is unfortunate since we are locals."
