"A more elegant brunch/lunch place with a more open kitchen so you can see the cooks work! I highly recommend this place for brunch, the drinks are incredible and beautiful! I got the Good Witch and it was SO tasty. There was a drink called Purple Rain that's SO pretty! I very rarely see purple drinks that beautiful and Felicia. The burrata was a delicious meal but we shared it as an appetizer. The condiments with it were amazing! The daily popover (which is close to a yorshire pudding texture) is delightful but huge! We didn't realize it's came with 2 and it doesn't state that on the menu so recommend sharing it with one or even two people! I got the avocado baked eggs and it was delicious but a bit odd to eat. It was a whole avocado, cut in half, with a poached egg in each half but I want expecting the skin to still be on the avocado so it was awkward to eat. Overall it was delicious but the lack of descriptions to include important notes for the meals is the only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5. I wish the menu made mention that there were skins on the avocados or that the waiter could have looked at my party of 6 and suggested we split 3 popovers out at least make mention how big they are (we ordered 5 of them on top of our meals, drinks, and other appetizers and so it became wasteful). I want to add, for accessibility reasons: The restrooms are an adventure, I had to go upstairs and down a hall to get to it. There are elevators for those that can't take stairs though! Just a bit of a journey to get there."

"Absolutely beautifully plated, clean palate pleasing dishes! Chef Massimo is the Best!! He brings out the most wonderful flavors and textures in all the dishes he prepares. He has a very very nice wine list. His dining area is very nice and beautifully decorated with wall waterfalls and nicely dimmed lighting. Very romantic. His staff is absolutely wonderful, very attentive, and friendly. Donna is a very wonderful host, always making you feel very welcomed. Thank you for making our evening Outstanding."

"We enjoyed an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. We started with the beet salad and the butter lettuce salad, both of which were excellent. The pappardelle pasta was the best we’ve ever tasted. We also tried the prosciutto and burrata pizza, which was outstanding. Our server, Carlos, was incredibly attentive and considerate. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Our experience at Lavendou was not the best. Three of us went there for a friend's birthday high tea. Despite having a reservation and several open tables, we were seated at a table in a noisy area under the cold vents. We requested to be moved to a quieter corner or back area, but the staff said it was difficult for some reason. We believe that guests should be accommodated in situations like this."

"We recently chose Quintessential on another friend’s recommendation for celebrating a special occasion. The staff was wonderful, as was the food. One of our out-of-town guests remarked that the kebobs were the best she had anywhere. The salmon was another big hit, its delicious flavor almost eclipsed by the scrumptious mushroom risotto served alongside. The martinis were also a big hit (in particular the chocolate). I’m so pleased this restaurant was recommended to us, and I certainly will be recommending it to others!"

"we had a 7pm reservation, the dining was empty, but filled up within an hour. We ordered drinks, and when they were delivered we ordered our meal. Our appetizer was very good, and the dishes were never taken away, our waiter came and asked if we have ordered our main course. The service was VERY slow. there was only one waiter and 2 bus boys, for the whole dining room. Not smart for a Valentine`s evening. There was plenty of help in the bar area."

"Another very good experience at this institution located in Little Italy Bronx. Appetizer was incredibly amazing! So was the black pasta special!!! This should be a regular on the menu... According to the season, the soft-shell crabs are tasty, so great... The rabbit dish did not meet expectations...not well prepared. "Service was good, food was good but nothing remarkable. However, someone in our party ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli entree pasta, seeing other tables with heaping plates of pasta. There were 6 quarter sized ravioli on the plate. 6. Again this was a basic vegetarian dish and was also somehow more expensive than anything else our party ordered including non pasta meat dishes… for maybe 2 oz of food. Ended up having to order an entire additional entree as that wouldn’t feed a toddler. If that’s your portion size for this dish, fine but maybe put it in the appetizer section? Just overall awkward and disappointing and not worth the price at all."

"Although I would recommend my friends to visit Agora, the service last time was very low and bad. Agora is one of my fav' places in DC, I go there very often when visitors come, business meetings etc,. However, last time when I went, the service was bad. The waiter came at least 10 times in the first 20 mins since we came, he saw us talking and looking for the menu, however, he did not respect our space and privacy . He came and asked us again and again if we need to order food. While making our order, he recommend us to order at least 7-8 dishes, alleging that each person need 3-4 dishes. He did not ask how much we are hungry, which kind of dishes we like, I felt he was trying to push more and more food- which is unprofessional at all."

"agora came as recommended in one of the DC food guides, so we decided to go there to dinner. I have mixed feeling about this place and their menus. the place is really good and has a very contemporary decor with bright beautiful colors and interior spaces. However, those who have good Turkish cuisine in other restaurants or countries do not like it very much. the food is almost under the same, except the lamb rack. babaghanoogh is tasteless, meat in the mixed plate is either over seasoned or not seasoned at all. I had heard a lot about her kunafa, but they were out of it. small tables, small tellers and they inform them that there is a tapas style small portion. for this price point I would rather recommend booking in all good 1 Michelin-star restaurants in dc. it is more of a snack type instead of a formal evening dinner affair."

"Excellent food. I wish we got our waitresses name, but she was exceptional. Only thing I did not care for is being told they had another reservation after us and that we needed to be done by 7:45. Doesn’t allow to linger over drinks and possible dessert. We left our table at 7:48. Overall food was great, 3 of us for the scallop pasta and the other the crab cakes. Two got an order of oysters, one the cooked oysters, and one got the lettuce wraps. All good, will definitely come back on our yearly trips to the OBX."
