"Twenty Eight Atlantic is back! If you 've had unfortunate experiences at Wequasset in recent years, it 's time to try again. Not sure if it 's the new ownership or just a new attitude, but last evening was wonderful in every way. We let them know ahead of time that we were celebrating a friend 's recent triumph and they understood exactly what that meant. The best table in the house corner table at the windows overlooking the terraces with the ocean beyond and last evening, a shoreside wedding. Delightful. Three of us had the 7 course tasting menu (they allow substitutions! and one had the 5 course (variation at the same table! . Everything was fresh, inventive, incredibly flavorful, and a delight to look at, smell and taste. Warning the portions are larger than the typical tasting menu pace yourself (we sadly didn 't! . We started with enhancements of champagne (the Veuve Cliquot was excellent and caviar (our outstanding server coached us through the many build options they serve with your tin on ice! . And when it all was done, they brought out a post desert tray of homemade marshmallows, a heavenly chocolate ganache ball, and jellied pineapple and a gift for our guest of honor. Perfection. It cost a fortune. And was worth every penny. Go now because word will get out fast that this once grand dining room is back. It 'll be hard to get a table soon. On the way out we noticed that Thoreau 's was packed!"

"Wow. WOW!. My wife and i live a block away from chio. we went reluctantly after another nearby place had a mysterious waiting time of 90 minutes. Just an FYI we've been very lucky to have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world. I am also Italian, and it has always saddened me that no restaurant nearby has ever served authentic Italian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. We had our two young children with us and ordered the veal ricotta meatballs and a margherita flatbread(pizza . Even these were outstanding. My wife had the chitarra, which almost made her cry for joy, and i had the cavatelli(real homemade cavatelli with fennel sausage and brocolli rabe. We told the waitress (who was terrific! that we would have licked the plates had shame not taken over.<br/ <br/ It was easily the best food we've had in the twenty years we've lived and dined in the Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill area. Only Saul was on par with this, and we had outdoor seating to boot. We even got dessert, which we never do, and the marscapone with caramlized figs almost made me want to consider renaming my son to whatever the chef's name is. <br/ <br/ Please, please, please, don't let this place be shadowed or judged by Italian fare in the neighborhood. It reminded me of my last time in Rome, not because of the type of food, but because the ingredients were so fresh, the pasta, cheese and sausage so perfect. <br/ <br/ Outstanding."
