"A visit to Monterrey would not be complete without trying some cabrito. This time, we chose San Carlos. The service was excellent, as is customary in Monterrey. The staff are professional, sharp, and friendly, always making sure you are well taken care of. The waiters at San Carlos were no exception. The queso and beans were excellent. One of us tried the goat stew, which was a very flavorful dish. Eating cabrito can be a bit of a messy experience, similar to picking crabs in South Carolina, but the camaraderie at the table makes it worth it. I recommend adding some salt to the crispy skin and a bit of salsa to each chunk of meat. The delicious beans and flan served as a perfect ending to the meal."

"Music was too loud for such a small place. Service is awful. Sadly, you have to request everything because they seem not to know how to provide service. A drink in a jar, you have to ask for a cup. It was just everything."

"Never coming here again. I am not picky when it?s comes to eating at restaurants however I got scammed and the food was horrible. The food was just reheated and the chicken was hard to eat. When the check came, our waitress over charged us but I didn?t question her because I thought it was an honest mistake. Now that I?m looking at my bank statement she over charged me EVEN MORE. Plus, I left a great tip in cash which I regret now. Horrible experience. (Also it?s a verysketchy place)"

"Wish we had not gone here. Sopa de bolas was room temperature, they got my son’s order wrong, and I had to go back near kitchen and tell them it was wrong. So while we ate, my son had to wait a long time. Plus his food was not even worth the wait. What a disaster. The worst part was the soup must have been siting there in room temperature, or just old, cause my mom got very sick in middle of night. NEVER AGAIN will spend money there, not even on a beverage. I called to speak to manger and a girl claiming to be Daniela (she probably gave a false name) said there is no manager, and said she will ask owner to call me. It has been over a week, and no call."

"The restaurant is average. The food itself is good. I had the fish ceviche and one empanada. My wife had the steak. She enjoyed it. My ceviche was tasty and filling. The empanada had a good amount of cheese. We spent around $65 for both food and drinks. The portions were generous and flavorful."

"Didn’t feel welcome here at all. I’m a black girl and went there alone after the Mets game and sat by the bar. One of the two guys sitting to the left of me didn’t say anything to me, but mocked me and turned completely around to stare directly at me as I was leaving. Had teardrop tattoos on his face. So congrats, you made me uncomfortable. I’ll pass on ever going back."

"My first time here, service was amazing! 10/10. Food quality was even better! My first time having guatita and it was great. We also had the bistec ensabollado, and the mar y tierra plate. All were so tasty. The environment felt very homey. Will definitely be coming back here with family and friends."

"This place is definitely not a restaurant and absolutely not family friendly due to its customer base being mainly people that want to drink.I am not sure who is the cook but the food is not Ecuadorian, they take forever to make it and in my experience it wasn't what I ordered. The staff is alright. The owner or supervisor unsure who he was, checks up on the customers and greets them. The waitress was reluctant from giving me tap water and tried to trick me into buying bottled water.Overall, the place looks great, has a lot of potential, it just has the wrong crowd and poor management."

"This restaurant is amazing for delicious and affordable South American cuisine. The food was high quality, the portions were generous, and they included a variety of condiments and cutlery in the takeout bag. The authenticity and homemade taste really stood out, and I would even go as far as to say I preferred it over the food at Mixto."

"Decided to try a new restaurant and I was not disappointed! Everything came hot and fresh and was tasty. The empanadas were very good and extra sauces provided complemented the dishes well."
