"love the ambiente, the scientific service (dutch really cares for them) and super cooked hand-cut steaks. after 20 hours long journey, the dinner at this place was soothing. French wobbles suppe was very delicious, although a tad challenging to eat because the cheese hard to get on the fork. "The name is misleading because it conjures up an image of a quaint, rustic cabin overlooking the water right next to a lighthouse that's been there since the middle ages. That's not even close as the restaurant is in the back of a nondescript apartment building, out of sight, not easy to find and while the lake is close by, you need to squint to see it. Once over all that and in the place, it's a treat. The service is slow but it's part of the appeal. If you're in a mad rush, this place is not for you. There's an outside patio that puts one a little closer to the water but it doesn't look like it's used much."

"We were unaware of the restaurant's existence it is inside the Nordstrom shop at 57th Street, second floor. The service and atmosphere were excellent, providing a quiet spot for a delightful dinner experience. Food was delicious but there was a prolonged wait for the lamb shank. The restaurant apologized, and kindly compensated us with a complimentary appetizer. We will go again."

"This restaurant experience was absolutely terrible. I ordered food during my lunch break and the owner was incredibly rude, accusing me of being picky about my food when all I wanted was something edible. They promised to give me a replacement but purposely made it wrong and then yelled at me, saying it's only $8.00, before hanging up. I used to visit this establishment 3+ times a week, but I will not tolerate being treated so disrespectfully."

"I had previously dined here in the evening, which was quiet and very pleasant. This time I brought a large group of family and friends for Sunday brunch. We ordered bellinis, which were divine!! The food was well worth the relaxed wait obviously cooked to order. Crepe florentine, breakfast crepes (in particular, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon option) and dessert crepes were served. All were delicious and cooked to perfection."
