"Dined in and had a nice experience! delicious food, big quantities, good prices. We got general tso's, orange chicken, moo shu chicken, and sweet and sour chicken and we all enjoyed our meals. Also got egg drop soup, spring rolls, and veggie tempura and enjoyed that as well. Definitely recommend this place for dine in and carryout!"

"My husband and I love coming here. The staff is very friendly and the service is good. There are so many delicious meals to order! We love to get the Californian role (made tempura) and teriyaki dishes. There is a reason why some days it can take a few extra minutes to get your food, but it is definitely worth waiting"

"Classic Japanese restaurant and quiet but very good. We come here for fresh and traditional products. The sushi and sashimi are very good. The boat for two is quite filling. For drinks we had teas and they constantly brought hot water. The landlady is very nice. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but it was pretty quiet when we were there. Probably because it was off-peak in the summer. However, there are a lot of takeout orders. The bill was higher than a classic American restaurant in the area since we had taken only fish. "The hibachi was excellent as usual. I had filet and it was very fresh and tasty. Benny the hibachi chef is always friendly and consistently makes a great hibachi meal. The hostess/waitresses (Sophie and Helen) are very polite and attentive. Have been going to Gen for 15 years and have always had a great experience. On weekends it is best to make a reservation if you want to sit at the hibachi table."

"I loved this little mom and pop Hibachi place! I originally was in search of Japanese style cuisine. I knew of Benihana which to me is meh. And through research between Yelp and social media I heard a lot of the local community talking about Izumo. And the community rated this place really high for a local mom and pop kind of place. I had more time over winter break here to check this place out. First for you COVID conscious folks- indoor seating only. Yes precautions like staff wearing masks and sanitizer are provided/available. There are maybe 6 Hibachi grills, there's a sushi bar, and then general seating. When I was there, no one was in restaurant eating. I went the day before New Years Eve. I ordered takeout! Yes folks they accommodate takeout! I ordered the combo chicken and steak and requested fried rice in place of plain rice. The meal came with the soup and salad and shrimp appetizer as well. And I guess here the meal comes with hibachi vegetables, and some sort of noodle dish side- never had the noodles before but ok. Food was ready on time and smelled divine! I actually had to make another stop after my pickup, so it did sit in my car a bit before heading home. When I got home I was fully expecting the food to be cold. But everything held decent temperature! I got to enjoy the soup and then salad before diving into the entree and everything was still warm- no microwave necessary yet. Everything was so tasty! I loved the noodles. The veggies were on point and the fried rice was nicely fried. The meat was cooked to perfection. Portions were plentiful! I had some leftovers (yes! . I would choose this place over Benihana ANY DAY! Thank you for being that self owned and operated family place that's better than the corporate chain! You deserve the accolades! I will be back soon! If any of you ever think of going to the competitor, please take your business to this place instead! It's more than worth it!!"

"my group and I came here on Saturday, late afternoon. I had originally planned to go to another hibachi restaurant that I had gone before, but their last reviews were not very good. "After opening their new location during the pandemic, I finally was able to come to the new location. I think the last location had a better visual appeal to it, but the new space has plenty of space. This restaurant has a ton of variety as it has a Japanese, Chinese and Thai menu all in one. Food is pretty good overall, but anytime you get a dish with vegetables they are under cooked. I don’t mind when vegetables are a little al dente but they are almost raw. There is also a struggle getting sushi when you order to go because they don’t adhere to certain instructions, like no wasabi. Otherwise, it’s a great place to eat and try a lot of different things."

"This was the first time I came here with my children. I wanted them to experience hibachi. WE ALL LOVED IT ! For what you pay it?s definitely worth it ! They now include gratuity so beware of that , but I don?t blame them you get sooooo much food for what you pay ! They cook in front of you this place is extremely amazing , clean and uplifting and I?ll definitely come back the next chance I get. I ordered the steak shrimp and scallops and he cooked my food perfectly while entertaining us all !! They gave a big big side of rice noodles and vegetables. My daughter got chicken nuggets and fries and my son got the kids shrimp hibachi and it was sooooo good I can?t stress that enough. PLEASE COME HERE ! I?m pregnant so I ate almost all of my food ."
