"Classic Japanese restaurant and quiet but very good. We come here for fresh and traditional products. The sushi and sashimi are very good. The boat for two is quite filling. For drinks we had teas and they constantly brought hot water. The landlady is very nice. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but it was pretty quiet when we were there. Probably because it was off-peak in the summer. However, there are a lot of takeout orders. The bill was higher than a classic American restaurant in the area since we had taken only fish. Found ourselves in Madison to run some errands. Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. My wife was in the mood for Japanese and we stumbled upon Takuma and we are happy we did. I had the Chirashi and my wife ordered the Sushi Deluxe. The Sushi was very fresh and well prepared. I was happy to find that they served a bit more obscure selections such as Uni and Saba which is becoming more difficult to find these days. The dining area was pleasant, clean and well designed. The server was friendly and attentive. We will definitely dine a Takuma again soon.
