"The restaurant was understaffed. We’ve been there many times for family celebrations, and tonight’s service was by far the worst we’ve seen. At one point the owner/manager sat down with some guests; if your staff is in the weeds, maybe help them out and visit later."

"Very disappointed at this place. I actually left hungry. My family and I are Greek so we were expecting authentic Greek food as the website suggests. My go to dish is always moussaka and this the first time I didn 't even finish 1/4 of it, I had one bite and pushed it aside. There was no flavour at all in the meat, it was completely bland. I got a side of green beans and they were also bland. My family did enjoy their pasta dishes which I tried a bit and those were a actually seasoned well and had spices. The service was very, very slow. I was even waiting for my waitress to come back after we had recieved our dinner so I can ask for something else as the moussaka was completely bland. She never came back untill my family was finished their plates so at that point asking for a new dish was pointless. All I ate was some green beans and lemon potatoes. Was even more disappointed as this is my birthday trip. I was afraid to even order dessert since my dish didn 't taste seasoned. Out of my whole meal, including my drink I only enjoyed the lemon potatoes. It was obvious I didn 't touch my moussaka besides trying a bite and all I was asked was if I wanted a box to take home. The waitress we had also didn 't know the difference between greek mazithra and Parmesan cheese. We asked for extra mazithra and then I overheard her asking a coworker for extra Parmesan. When it came it was indeed parmesan cheese and she said I didn 't know there was a difference after we asked again for mazithra. Overall my family enjoyed their food, but the lack of customer service made me not able to order anything else so I left hungry."

"Disappointing please read further. When a restaurant is in the St. Regis Hotel, you expect everything to be on point. That is not the case here. The food was outstanding and priced as such. Dinner for two, with one shared appetizer, two entrees and glasses of wine was plus gratuity. But, the food, service and price is not the issue here it's the noise level. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining area and the noise coming out of the kitchen totally compromises everything else. Dishes and silverware banging, pots and glassware rattling. The racket coming from the kitchen was so loud, we could not even hear the waiter reading the specials. And management was totally oblivious to the problem, which is unfortunate because the service was spot on. We were so uncomfortable and could not wait to get out of there"

"I went to this restaurant for lunch while staying at a nearby hotel. The food was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed dining al fresco with the windows open. I ordered the gyro plate, and my friend had a gyro salad, both of which we were very satisfied with. The only downside was that I found the price of the cocktail a bit high at $11.25, although it was tasty. Despite this, I would still return to enjoy the lovely decor and delicious food, but probably skip the cocktails next time."

"The menu is very different from most Greek restaurants. Many different decisions and some old standards BUT with a completely different flare. The presentations and preparations were excellent. Everything tasted so delicious!! The owner/Koch was very helpful and friendly. The waiting staff was very present and helpful.. It wasn't a surprise. The grilled shrimps were probably the best I ever had. All dishes were wonderful. The deserts were crazy. The blueberry baklava was from this world and the Ekmeck was orgasm. I can't wait to return."

"A disappointing meal and experience. The dining room was spacey, boring, and impersonal. Bread was served with a thick kalamata-tomato dip which we did not like, and we asked for olive oil instead. Stuffed grape leaves were good, but overwhelmed by a thick lemon sauce. My braised lamb shank lacked much spice or flavor, and was braised so long the meat was dry and firm. My partner's lamb chops were requested rare to medium rare, and came medium. Her dish, moreover was served as I ate my appetizer, and was cold by the time my main course was ready. All in all, a restaurant which needs to improve the setting, service, and food."

We waited minutes for our drinks to arrive, and one was wrong.After another minutes we flagged down a member of the waitstaff she took our food orders.A side dish we had ordered never came. When I asked for it, because I wanted to eat it with my entree, I was told it would be right there. Several minutes later it came, cold and undercooked.We were never asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu or if we wanted another drink.I saw people at several other tables that were also trying to get someone's attention so they could order.I would not recommend this restaurant will never go back. There are a lot of better Greek restaurants in Astoria"

"I knew we were for a treat when we arrived for an early Easter dinner to find a whole lamb that swirled over an open fire on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. We had a wonderful meal. My Arni Kokkinisto can be the best I've ever eaten! The restaurant was packed, but there was room to breathe and the staff moved efficiently and cheerfully through the afternoon. As I have often said, you never have to leave New Jersey. And it is thanks to places like Stamna Greek Teverna!"

"Update: 2nd time order in person at the store last week. Ordered the baked lamb for weekday dinner. It was luke warm and not very flavorful. I was shocked considering my UberEats order below (2.5 weeks before) was piping hot and tasty AFTER delivery. The potatoes were lukewarm. I had a guest so didn't want to cause a fuss to warm it up or redo it. So bummed considering I was 10 feet from where it was made. Unless they already had it made and just heated it.. IDK, but it really disappointed me that my home delivery order was 5x hotter and steamy than the in-person. Will order from somewhere else for a while.1st time order. Chicken kebabs were tender, juicy, and well spiced. Right temp too. Not luke warm. Greek salad was fresh and didnt skimp on feta cheese. Lemon potatoes were delish. Will order again."

"We got together on vacation as a family of 10 including a baby all the way up to great grandparents. Ambiance was great the servers danced around the restaurant once as entertainment! food was great and Tony our server was so excellent. I should also mention the 2 for 1 drink special was amazing . Would definitely recommend!"
