"After I was here almost every weekend for the last few months, I have to say that the food NIE is consistent. Always hit or miss. I wanted to love this place so bad, because it is the only restaurant of its kind here and it offers healthy, tasteful food. Consistency is a problem. The chicken was apparently reheated or old, the sauce for brown stuffing is watered down and does not last well so that it leaves the chicken dry unless you spoon the sauce up before eating. The chicken is either perfectly cooked or overcooked, depending on the day and time you go. Rice is either muddy, old or just right. Cabbage and carrot either cooked or raw. I did not expect much of Mac and cheese from a Jamaican restaurant, but it is quite decent when fresh. The guy behind the counter is ALWAYS nice and welcoming, the lady is hit or miss. I had almost everything on the menu, the taste is never the same. I had to start asking her to show me the chicken before I decide if I want to eat it. Oxtail are great and brown stew beef was also good. The best is her fried red snapper, escovitch or brown stew."
