"my wife and I love to try new things, what better to do on Valentine's Day than to taste Ethiopian food? because this was our first time, we tried a combo plate. everything was well cooked and delicious. my wife also ordered a cappuccino and a tiramisu. the tiramisu was amazing and I really liked the cappuccino, but it was too strong for the taste of my wife. the young lady waiting for us was called grace and she deserves an increase in salary. we never had to wait for anything except that our food is cooked. she was patient and explained the articles on the combo plate and the right way to eat it - no utensils and with the big pancake."

"Mudai Restaurant is a hidden gem in the downtown area of San Jose. The food is absolutely delicious and delightful, made with savory spices and always fresh. The spongy and malty bread called Injera compliments the food. The service is always great and served with a smile. We love this establishment and visit often. Try their Honey wine, it pairs well with any choice of entree you pick. Our favorite is the Veggie Combo, served family style. As a reminder of Ethiopian food, it is served without utensils so be prepared to eat with your hands/fingers. Parking is limited so be prepared for that too. Enjoy!Parking: Street parking only, best to park across the street of San Carlos."

"I find eating here really soothing and filling. I go here a lot with friends or take groups of people here, and everyone always thanks me for introducing them into this restaurant. there are many different types of meal, but I love each of their dishes with yellow divided heaps. the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, they are not too full or noisy in the rule."

"Another Gem. Nice cozy restaurant, with a special occasions room in the back, with a stage..a sports bar, that is open yet private. Warm home like and very good food. We had the Lamb Platter..Yummmmmmmy. at the moment the menu is a bit limited though it has the essentials for those who are Vegiterian, Beef, chicken, or lamb eaters. Thank you for a wonderful meal. See you again, Soon."

"we seek out Ethiopian restaurants as there are none in our hometown. I had some questions about the menu but did not feel like the waitress answered any of them. I am not sure if there was a language barrier or if she just wanted to go home. Regardless of the reason, it was extremely frustrating to me. When the waitress finally came back to my table, she told me that I needed to hurry up and order. I do not know what the rush was."

"Tasty Ethiopian food... We enjoyed a couple of veggie sambusas and meat combo platter for two. Generous portions, reasonably priced, and friendly service. The chicken is always our favourite, the beef was nice and spicy, but found the lamb a little chewy, with plenty of Injera for eating everything with. The food takes a while (30+ mins) to come once ordered, but this is consistent with other Ethiopian restraunts and good food is worth the wait!"

"wow an Ethiopian restaurant with white tablecloths for lunch. wonderful authentic food and a beautiful ambiente in the inner. loves the personal that my few words of amharic never laughed, which were really helpful and friendly. we have bark and chicken and vegetables on indira. this great combination served 3 people perfect. good place to park outside. we are not in any problem on 12th Tuesday, but they are also open for reservations and both din-in and take-out options are available in the blue nile."

"This place is so amazing! Your food is delicious and full of flavor. Everything tastes perfectly seasoned. I loved speaking to one of the owners who also happens to be vegan. She was even kind enough to offer us vegan cookies to try for free. Don't jump out on dessert when you come, the cakes and cookies here are amazing. Just ask which selections are vegan. Would highly recommend, this is a great locally run shop!"

"selam is one of the best restaurants in the larger opposite of orlando. the server are incredibly friendly, eating is tasteful and mouthwater. it is a particularly good place to come with family and friends and to share a meal (I would not try to order individual dishes for people). Expect to roll up your sleeves and eat with your hands. I recommend getting the Veggie combination and/or meat combination so they can try a lot what selam has to offer, but honestly everything I ate was incredible."

"My dad was quite curious about African cuisine last spring, so my adventure started in the small Eithiopie section of LA. My first time here was with my dad order different dishes for the extract, and I came back several times because I enjoy REALLY the way their food tastes. Here's what I had in Little Ethiopia: Pea and Lentil Samosas. Very delicious! I almost remember the Indian version because they were sharp. (see picture) Vegetarian ALICHA Spread Court. I could eat as a vegetarian every day and be happy as a shell. (see picture) Chicken with hard boiled eggs (Doro Wat), lamb (Sega Wat) and beef spreads out. So very spicy, but NOT hot delicious. (see pic) Beef tar dish called KITFO served with IAB (yogurt cheese). I'm not a Rindtar fan, so I tried the ingwerly. lol... it was good, but the more a reflection of my own personal bias that I would no longer order this and not the restaurant. I'd rather stick to the vegetarian courts. (see picture) The ambience feels and looks like a café in a 3rd world country, lol, but people are so nice and friendly. The service is a little slow, but its really nice change in speed from the rat race outside. I don't care how you know that the owners/servers do the best they can. The thing that distinguishes the DIESES restaurant from most others in this section is their real hospitality. I don't feel like a number here. They patiently answered all our questions and made us feel very comfortable trying a kitchen with which we were not yet familiar. My dad is a hard sale, so if you feel welcome and feel comfortable, you are a winner in my book. Else, I'd hear it for days! Ai-ya! If you eat here, be ready to forget about utensils and eat bread with your inerja with your fingers to shovel your food. I don't care about the Inerja bread alone, but together with her spreads is divine! The dishes on which the food is served are quite large and take up most of your tables so that the scooping with inerja bread is very practical. But the staff will bring you additional plates and utensils on your request. As an Ethiopian restaurant, it is strange that they do not wear an Ethiopian beer that is well used right next door in a sunglass shop with a type of 7-11. But Little Ethiopia was very cool and let me bring the beer in to enjoy her food. The prices are very reasonable for any dish, but because I like to try a variety of 2-3 dishes to bring a friend or two together is ideal. I can't eat it alone. Parking is quite easy on Sunday, as the restrictions/meters do not apply on Sunday. No parking or parking available, only street parking. They take reservations and are great when they work with big parties. They set up a special table section for a group I once hosted. In any case, give this place an attempt. You will be pleasantly surprised."
