"This is a beautifully located restaurant on the top of a small mountaintop location that makes it feel like such an authentic Japanese location. I am giving 2 stars unfortunately do to the experience that we had at the restaurant (if you look at my profile I barely give 1 2 star reviews). The food was good, the drinks were good however our chef and server just didn?t have it tonight. No smiles, long waits and in general just not a pleasant attitude. The tables next to us were singing, laughing and tricks were being had. I?m sure for many the experience will be great, hopefully this can help provide some candid feedback to the restaurant management team."

"The time that I went with my family I did not have a very good dining experience. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and we were the 2nd group that arrived when they opened. The hostess seem to really have a rude manner. The waitress tried her best tohelp us. Overall the food was good. The speed of the service was not very good being a sushi place. Overall I would notrecommend this place for dinner but for lunch I have had good experiences so go for lunch!"

"During my recent visit to this restaurant, I was not feeling well and had a limited appetite for a large meal. I ordered a miso soup and a spicy tuna roll, which were good. We informed the waitress of my shellfish allergy and she acknowledged it. However, when the chef came out to cook at our table, there was no show and he immediately started grilling shrimp, despite my allergy. When I kindly informed him of my allergy, he dismissively told me that he wasn't cooking for me, only the other people in my group. This lack of consideration and empathy was very disappointing and one of the most rude encounters I've had with a chef. His disregard for my safety also prevented me from even trying anything off my husband's plate, as he continued to cook with shellfish in close proximity. Overall, I was disappointed by the chef's attitude towards my allergy, which could have had serious consequences for me."

"Let me start my saying our server Kristin was AMAZing! However the front desk and management staff was horrendous. We notified the desk when our party was complete and they never took our name just asked us to wait to the side then proceed to seat MaNY parties that came in after us. The women manager (with the M necklace) was so rude. Her reasoning for the error was that the man I told about my party being complete was “new”. That is not my problem, it’s hers! She was so rude, refused to make eye contact with me and then told me I was wrong and never told her my party was complete. She proceeded to tell me we were next multiple times and then purposefully skipped us and spoke to other guests about me directly which was so unprofessional! I then asked to speak to another manager and was told he was “too busy”. I asked for a manager to visit my table and for two hours no one came. This type of management is so unpleasant and unprofessional. A simple so sorry for the confusion would have been all we needed and never got it. Such a shame that this place is run so poorly. If you can bypass the awful front desk and management staff you might have an enjoyable time."

"I usually get lunch here once or twice a month. I order the sushi lunch special, which is delicious, but I have a concern about the menu on their website, and the explanation I received from the hostess. Around 12:40 a.m., I placed an order over the phone at their Rancho San Diego restaurant location. On the Yi Sushi website, it stated that my menu item- sushi lunch special was $10.50. When I spoke to the lady who answered the phone, she said it was $13.00. When I arrived at the restaurant, I explained it to her again. She said that if I showed it to her what I was referring to, and it was $10.50, she would honor the price. I showed her, on my phone, where her website showed $10.50 for the lunch special. She said that that was an old menu that the public must have added. I said no one can access and change your website but you web account administrator. It appears to be false advertising. She still charged me $13.00 saying that I ordered the sushi regular- which is the same as the lunch special Amazing! Due to the untruthfulness of this discussion, I may begin looking for another sushi restaurant."
