"this is a really great place for a gourmet dinner. our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable and attentive. the restaurant layout was more extensive than we had realized, but a pleasant surprise. I'm going back to the finals. almost notice that eating was very good and portions were great, but underseasoned for my taste, I am a cook at the trade so that I will always be critical."

"We went here for a friends birthday dinner last night and it was wonderful! I expected the food to be delicious and it definitely was! I was pleasantly surprised with all of the staff. We were greeted immediately and although we had to wait a few short minutes to be seated the hostess actually chatted with us and made us feel very welcome. When we were taken to our table a birthday card was hand delivered to my friend; a nice little touch to make things a little more personal. Sean was our server and Caiden was helping him out and they were both very professional but made us feel comfortable enough to just be ourselves at the same time. That’s hard to find at fine dining but when you do it’s definitely somewhere you want to keep coming back to! When it came to the service the cherry on top was John (one of the managers) stopping to wish a happy birthday to our table too. It was a Tuesday evening but the restaurant was still buzzing with guests and a few large parties. Being that we were just a table of three I was not expecting that but it was so appreciated and made us feel like more than a bottom line but actual guests. We had appetizers, a few different cuts of steak, the blt wedge salad and a delicious salted caramel gelato atop the caramel cake instead of the usual vanilla. Sean was spot on with that suggestion it was divine! Everything was absolutely perfect I couldn’t have asked for a better night to celebrate my dear friend. We cannot wait to dine here again! I want to add I never leave reviews and I travel for business and pleasure on a monthly basis but Ocean 44 exceeded my expectations!"

"Great experience! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and immediately when we sat down our waiter said happy anniversary (marked that as an occasion on Open Table) Gram was so attentive kind and helpful in making our food and drink selections. The Blueberry Mojito was so good! We were a bit cold at the beginning and end of our meal (sitting still/not eating etc other than that great atmosphere. Everyone was so nice. We even got some fruit on a plate that had “Happy Anniversary” on it in chocolate. Definitely helped make this one of the best anniversaries we have had. Food was delicious but I personally would have preferred more cheese in my lobster fettuccine. Overall amazing experience everyone should go here!"

"Hendricks Tavern is a hidden gem located in the heart of Roslyn. The service, from the valet attendants to the wait staff, was excellent and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The ambiance is warm, laid back, and relaxing. My wife had been wanting to try Hendricks Tavern for a while, so we decided to celebrate her birthday there. We made a reservation for outdoor seating and were accommodated without any issues. The food was superb! We enjoyed zucchini and eggplant chips, fried calamari, and a pizza as appetizers, all of which were delicious. For our main courses, we had Tavern BBQ Ribs and a 30oz Tomahawk Rib Eye steak, which we shared. The sides of creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and hash browns were tasty, although the hash browns were a bit crunchy. Our desserts, carrot cake and homemade apple crisp, were also fantastic. The wait staff even sang happy birthday to my wife when they brought out her dessert, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a great dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Thank you to everyone at Hendricks Tavern for making my wife's birthday dinner special and memorable."

"We went with friends and were glad that it was restaurant week. First we had to ask for the special menu which is always annoying. Either you a participant in restaurant week or you are not. Ordered mozzarella and tomato app. Literally was served one slice of each. Pathetic. Ordered rib eye which was a $10 upcharge. Steak was awful. My friend said hers was inedible. Mine was horrible as well. Desert was flavorless. Worst part was the service. None. Had to wait 30 minutes for table to be cleared after the main course. Plenty of great steakhouses in and around great neck. Avoid this one at all costs."

"I would give it 3.5 stars if Google allowed. Food was good the pumpkin ravioli was excellent and the gulf shrimp pasta was good, too (both appetizers) but a few items like the mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese sides could have been elevated. Potatoes were bland and mac and cheese was dry and had a grainy texture. Beef short rib entree was delicious with an amazing crust on the outside but wasn't that tender on the inside and was a little dry too, like it was maybe cooked too fast or at too high a temperature. My husband enjoyed his scallops and my dessert, the sweet potato torte, was great while his, the carrot cake, was just ok. Again, nothing was bad but at these prices, I expected most things too be better. Service was great and the server was very apologetic that out desserts were taking an unreasonably long time. Nothing says sorry like taking it off the bill. It was Valentine's Day though so maybe the kitchen was just too busy. I think that trying happy hour pricing on a slower day will make it more worth it and a better value."

"However, the food and service after this point were subpar. Two of us ordered coffee, but it was served lukewarm. When we asked the waitress to warm it up, it took about 10 minutes for her to return with a metal pitcher, typically used for cream, containing more lukewarm coffee. My mother requested half-and-half instead of milk, and it took another 10 minutes for that to arrive as well. By that time, the coffee—which, by the way, did taste good—had gone cold. At the end of the meal, my partner decided to give the coffee another try and ordered a cup, while my mother asked for a refill. Unfortunately, her coffee was still not hot, and we felt like we were being accused of overstaying our welcome. I ordered a goat cheese and asparagus omelet, which was small but good; however, it was served with a piece of cold, dry, roasted white bread. I would expect that a restaurant of this caliber would serve something more appetizing. Where's the butter? I had to ask for butter, and by the time it arrived, I had lost interest in the cold toast. My partner's tuna tartare and my mother's dish were both decent but nothing special. Overall, we were quite disappointed, especially considering the prices. We had hoped for much better from this restaurant."

"Our group ordered the Halibut Cocktail, Burrata, and Truffle Fries to share, and I chose the Pork Chop as my main dish. Everything was delicious and fresh. The Pork Chop was a thick cut, and even though I don't usually eat much pork, this dish was incredibly juicy. We also shared the Apricot Crumble and a scoop of seasonal ice cream for dessert, both of which were delightful. Our waitress was attentive and courteous. Overall, this is a well-established local restaurant with several other locations in the Bay Area. I would definitely consider returning to explore more of their menu."

"Cuvee Ray is a must for wine and food lovers. Chef Joey Churchman is a star. We followed him from his own restaurant, Bramble Brine to Buttery in Lewes and now Cuvee Ray. Every dish is beautifully presented. The deckle is a stand-out. We also had the charred Brussels sprouts, warm Kale Salat and Teliolini Pasta with asparagus and mushrooms. I appreciated options as a vegan. The back room has its own dining room for large groups. Live music on Friday and Saturday night in the room/bar. The service is also top notch so don't hesitate!"

"The customer service was absolutely extraordinary, leaving me feeling valued and well taken care of, althought the wait at times is a bit long. The Ribeye Steam was an absolute delight, with its tender and flavorful meat that left me craving for more. The hibachi chicken was outstanding. The drink selection was extensive and offered a wide range of options to satisfy any preference. Don't miss out on the Oreo Cheesecake and Warm Chocolate Cake they were pure indulgence! The only slight drawback was the price, which could be on the higher side. Nevertheless, I personally recommend Frenasia."

"I’ve been going to Roxy bar for years when it was known as the TriBeCa grand. I’ve hosted and had many events here from my own engagement party to countless birthday celebrations and even Sunday jazz brunch. Needless to say I come here a lot. This is why I feel compelled to let you know how disappointing it is for me to write this. The service has really gone down hill. We were a party of 6 for cocktails and food. I made a special request for a couch area and even though the place was empty we were denied that spot. Fine. Second our waitress not only was not attentive but she left 1/2 way through out meal without even checking on us. The gentleman who took her place was apologetic but again it after a while we had to flag him for drinks and eventually the check. The place was empty by the way which is also a sign. Usually this place is very busy, even on a Monday. Food and drinks were still good it’s just the service that needs an overhaul."

"Reservations were on time. Service for a sat night was OK. Food was fine, Prime Rib was very fat. Portion sizes were good, but the noise level was terrible. I couldn't hear the person next to me. Prices were also a little expensive. Weekdays and Sundays are better, but if you like Prime Rib, there is a price to pay, not only in dollars and cents, but in hearing loss."

"As a long time resident of the neighborhood (30 years) and a previous patron of the buffet, I was not quite as satisfied as I have been in the past. Yes, the buffet looked good and there was a variety of choices. But, items were slow to be replenished. I had to ask for bagels for the fish display. How did the staff not notice it was empty for over ten minutes? However, for me personally, the most missing piece from this buffet was the peel and eat shrimp. When did they take that off the menu? I know it’s been awhile since I’ve been there, but for $39.99 per person (alcohol not included), they ought to include it! The table staff was attentive to our needs. Although I am a fan of the Roxy Hotel, I probably be a very long time before I return for the buffet."
