"our dinner exceeded all expectations. restaurant was busy, but we sat right away. our server (ethan) was about everything during our dinner. he was not overly present, but seemed conscious and was at our table when we needed him. what is to say about eating apart outstanding! our steaks were prepared exactly as we ordered it. I don't remember a more tasty and delicate ribeye. it can be hard to do this, but be sure to save space for dessert. the woodford bread pudding was beyond the description. chocolate, caramel, ice cream, whipped cream and the hauch of bourbon unites to a decadent dish!"

"great time in bar area with cocktails by brandon great old fashion and cosmos! dragged to the left into the wide dining room and taken over by victor and our waiter micheal. beautiful free time pace of another round, apps of crab filled mushrooms and meerrote ahi thun. both were excellent! moved to the entreen and all were cooked on request for perfection. framed spinach, kartoffeln au gratin, excellent lobster mac n cheese! wrapped with brotpudding and their cheesecakes both were great! all in all a great culinary and culinary experience that we cannot wait for. thank you. michael when they won these four back with their service and professionalism. a great night with friends!"

"What can I say? Julian, Shamus (I spell your name correctly, Casey and the staff went beyond and beyond to make our Jubilee Night a special one. As a family man, we do not get a chance to pamper ourselves in such facilities. Fried Oysters- Ridiculous! Send five more plates and I'm ready! Rib eye cooked for perfection. Crane Cakes were just the... So good band!!!! Everything was just amazing and it really starts with service. Something I love near me and my heart, because in today's time we need a little more smile on our faces. Bravo gang!!!!"

"I brought my work team there for dinner. We had to pay for Valet parking, but had to retrieve our own cars. During dinner, we would have to flag down other waiters to get have them get our waiter. Food was excellent as usual."

"great ny strip steak and service we always wanted to taste one of these steak houses, and this was close to our hotel. we liked that they could share a steak, so we tried the NY strip with a sweet potato casrole. it was excellent and cooked to order. we treated and shared the peanut butter cake that was very good. we got super service from their employees, and although the meal was expensive, it was good value."

"One of the top 10 steaks I?ve ever had. The service was phenomenal, our waiter checked in on us often and we felt really cared for. The wine (Belle Gloss Pinot Noir) with a filet was absolutely magical. Lobster tail, Mac n cheese, and potato?s au gratin, were to die for. Dessert (Crème brûlée) was fantastic. Great atmosphere inside, amazing food, solid service. Couldn?t ask for anything more!"

"Overall it was a very fun experience! Definitely better than other “igloos” I’ve been in before. Pros: Food and drink minimum was reasonable, and food was delicious. Most of the champagne chalets were very cute and decorated nicely. Our server Jordan was fantastic attentive, helped us with pictures, pleasant to talk to, really enhanced our experience. Keep up the great work, Jordan! You’re killing it. Cons: We were given clear, standard plastic cups for our drinks, not even plastic champagne flutes, which didn’t make sense to me because the “igloos” were on top of turf so glasses breaking shouldn’t have been a concern. Kind of weird to drink Veuve out of plastic, especially when the restaurant marked it up by over 100% (typical bottle is $70, but 1776 charged $150). Also the chalet next to us was given real wine glasses. The food was served in to go containers. Maybe it was in an effort to make the servers’ lives easier, but that coupled with the plastic cups made the experience feel a little cheaper than expected. The “love” themed chalet looked a little tacky and I’m glad we weren’t given that one. A price tag was left on the top of our coffee table and a decorative tray was placed on top to hide it vs. just removing it."
"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"Probably came here about 3 4 times for special occasions, fun clothes, reservations are a must especially for special occupants, they are usually busy, so call a few days ago or make a reservation online. Can go wrong with the filets Au gratin Spargel Stuffed Mushrooms with crab Creamed Spinach, which are my usual going to be but all on the menu once try atleast. I usually look at the menu before time, but I end up changing my mind as soon as they are there, they sometimes cause an off menu specifically for certain occasions."
